Sen. Kohl Stands Up to Verizon
By Josh Levy, May 24, 2012
Sen. Herb Kohl (pictured) just sent a forceful letter to the Federal Communications Commission and the Justice Department about Verizon's proposed deal with big cable.
"I believe these transactions present serious competition concerns which should be examined closely by your agencies," Sen. Kohl wrote.
As we continue to push Congress to investigate this competition-killing deal — which could make access to the high-speed Internet even more out of reach for millions — it's important to note Sen. Kohl’s stand in support of Internet users nationwide.
If more members of Congress are emboldened to make public statements like the senator’s, we'll have a shot at stopping this thing.
