The Creator Of Final Fantasy Reveals Party Wave

Hironobu Sakaguchi, better known as the man who created Final Fantasy, revealed a screenshot for his next game, Party Wave.

It's an iOS game, about surfing on rainbows, if the image above is any indication. Sakaguchi said that after finishing The Last Story, he was planning on moving into iOS game development, and this is his first project since making that proclamation.

  • Seems almost like a waste of talent.
  • IOS gaming is gonna crash.

  • So, you go from creating great triple-A games like Final Fantasy and The Last Story to iOS games about surfing on rainbows, apparently. Am I the only one not seeing any logic in this move?
  • Makes sense.  iOS is more shovelware friendly than nintendo (by a small margin)

  • Interesting, verrry interesting

  • Well this sounds really dumb

  • I've always said, "Boy I wish there was a iOS game where you could surf on rainbows", wait no no I haven't.  Hironobu Sakaguchi wins the wtf award, congrates!!

  • well this look....interesting....?
  • "Wahhhh wahhh, Sakaguchi is making an iOS game that means he'll never make a ~***real game***~ ever again wahhhhhh i've never actually played an iOS game before wahhhh" - Every Internet Comment Ever This looks pretty rad to me, and based on everything Hironobu Sakaguchi has ever said I doubt he'll never go back to the sort of games that made him famous. And even if he didn't, his old games still exist, and they are still amazing; it's not like they're ever gonna disappear.
  • Well it's kinda' a double rainbow.

  • More and more top talent within the game industry are looking to make games for iOS. It's kind of cool to see them working on something different but I haven't bought a game for my iPhone in a long time (or ever on my iPad) so I'll likely pass here as well.

  • Hmmmmmmmm...

  • It seems like a smart move for the people in this comments' section to diss the game, with only the vaguest clue of what it is, because it is but a dishonorable mobile game...
  • Yet another excuse to not give us a Final Fantasy 15. . .
  • .....

  • My God, this site is full of debbie downer's. I expected these kind of respones on the Draw Something article, and for good reason, but to see almost the exact same responses on an article about a visionary, who's just doing what he wants to do... And let's be honest, none of us know anything about this game, yeah it looks weird, so did Peggle.

  • oh how the mighty have fallen.......

  • maybe its a rainbow-suring RPG!

  • For real? O_o
