The next generation of gaming hardware is on the horizon, even though none of the major console manufacturers were talking about it at E3. If you want to see what the future holds for your in-game graphics (not just cutscenes), watch this demo video of Unreal Engine 4 and be amazed. The short sequence is called "Elemental" for reasons that are clear once you press play.

Epic Games has said that we shouldn't expect Unreal Engine 4 to ship until next year (at the earliest), so games actually using the technology are even further out. Even with a wait, it's practically impossible for a gamer to watch footage like this and not be excited.

Looks just amazing. I'm glad that such a good toolset is coupled with it. UE has helped make some really great games. That is Blizzard cinematic quality.

from a console outlook, thats great, but then again its only for cinematics, so who gives a ***. gameplay is what matters. pc has been here and done this anyway, not impressive to anyone looking forward to the new consoles: BUILD A PC... ITS CHEAPER AND BETTER.
