Hi! Thanks for checking out my profile. I'm Hut, and I'm currently 17 and a senior in high school. Gaming is one of my favorite hobbies, but I also enjoy drawing, writing, and playing guitar/writing songs. I'm still undecided on a career, but I'm currently considering journalism, while still playing music and making comics on the side, as hobbies.
I first started playing video games on Sega Genesis, when I was about four. Me and my brother would wake up early on Saturday mornings to play Dinosaurs for Hire (one of the greatest games on the Genesis, even though no one's heard of it), among other games. When I was five, I got a Playstation with Spyro the Dragon for Christmas, after asking for it when I played the demo at Gamestop. Soon afterwards I got a Gamecube, and the rest is history.
Currently I have a Playstation 3 and a Wii as my consoles of choice. My Playstation 3 is played much more, but there are some great Wii games I enjoy, and since the Wii plays Gamecube games, it gets its fair share of my affection.
I also own a DS that a friend gave to me, since he broke the right hinge on it, and he decided to buy a DSiXLSP Ultra Lite, or whatever the hell they call it. To be honest, though, I've hardly ever touched the thing, which is a shame, because there is a large amount of games on it I wish to play. I'll get to it one day though.
I first subscribed to GI magazine when I was 10, in '04 or '03. I was at Gamestop with my grandparents buying a game, and they clerk asked me if I wanted a subscription (at least I think that's how it happened). I asked my grandma and she said it was okay. At first, being so young, I mainly just looked at the pictures and laughed at the funny captions. However, as time went by, I began to actually read the articles, and not just the ones about games I knew about. Now, I look forward to every issue of GI, and also re-read some older issues pretty regularly- the oldest issue I still have is dated from '04.
I love talking about games almost as much as I love playing them. Gaming isn't just a hobby- it's a lifestyle.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to talking to you all here on GIO, the best community on the interwebs.
