Mobage operator DeNA held a press conference today to announce their latest social gaming plans. Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada was on hand to make a more formal announcement of the Final Fantasy social game that was previously announced as just "Final Fantasy x Mobage."

As reported at 4Gamer, the game's final name is "Final Fantasy Brigade." The genre is RPG, and the game appears to have battles akin to the classic 2D Final Fantasy games. Artwork shown at the event looked cute, like Theatrhythm Final Fantasy.

Wada highlighted three points about the game:

  • It's a new social game where you fight for your friends
  • You travel the world and get abilities and jobs
  • You can engage in battles with rival air ships

The game has familiar jobs, along with familiar summons like Bahamut and Odin.

Square Enix will hold a closed beta for the game in the middle of this month. Official service will begin in late December on feature phones. A smartphone and web version will be offered later.

Access the game's official site here.
