The Mortal Kombat series has long been held close to the hearts of NetherRealm Studios, the company that has for some time worked with the culturally significant series. The recent announcement that the studio would be working on a new project got many upset, but the studio wants to confirm that Mortal Kombat will stay with NetherRealm.
"NetherRealm has a number of projects in the works. Not JUST Mortal Kombat,” said NetherRealm boss Ed Boon on Twitter. “…NetherRealm is working on MK and non-MK games!"
The studio recently unveiled a Batman: Arkham City related title, Lockdown, on the iOS but there's been no word on what exactly is being worked on currently from NetherRealm.
