Entertainment conglomerate Warner Bros has announced its financial earnings for the full fiscal year ended on December 31, 2011. For the Filmed Entertainment division, which houses the company video games development efforts, revenue rose 9 percent to $12.6 billion. Operating income came to $1.3 billion, a 16 percent rise over the previous fiscal year.
Though the film Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 was responsible for much of the year’s grand total a gross of $4.7 billion, the report credits the strong sales of the company video game portfolio as well. Batman: Arkham City, Mortal Kombat, and the LEGO series are all mentioned as strong sellers. Arkham City alone sold 6 million units worldwide.
