The It's Always Sunny season finale was very funny – a much more focused and consistent episode than part 1 of this two-parter.

Okay, I will lament that they got Judy Greer back for the first time since Season 3's "The Aluminum Monster vs. Fatty McGoo" and didn't really use her, but then again, Ingrid/"Fatty" was a bit underwritten in her first appearance as well… So hey, there was consistency! And just getting Greer back (along with a cameo from Jason Sudeikis) was a cool touch of continuity.

Otherwise though, there was a lot to enjoy here. Dennis' plan to get revenge – "I'm going to bang Tim Murphy's black wife" – and the absolute losing it form of rage that resulted when that failed was very funny to behold. Glenn Howerton was especially great showing Dennis get so unhinged, complete with tangents like, "I like to bind. I like to be bound!"

Last week I was frustrated by the lack of explanation for why Dennis was being ignored at the reunion, if he was popular in high school. This week, we got that explanation: Dennis never really was popular, he just deluded himself into thinking he was. I don't know if this really completely gels with what we've seen on the show up until now, considering Dennis was never really contradicted by the others – plus there's the fact that he has been able to hook up with plenty of girls on the show, which seemed to reinforce his "I've always been a ladies man" persona.

Meanwhile though, the reveal that after all this time Tim Murphy (who'd been a big running joke through the series) had not actually slept with Dennis' prom date, but Mac had, was awesome. Mostly for this amazing exchange:

Dennis: How could you do that to me?

Mac: It was very easy. She was a whore.

I have to admit, I was very scared of the big dance routine when it began. As much as I love The Nightman Cometh, this seemed like a very gratuitous way to get the gang -- Aluminum Monster included -- doing a big performance, and while it was amusing, it also felt kind of off... Especially as everyone, including Adriano and Ingrid, began smiling and cheering. It wasn't earned…

Which is why it was so awesome to find out it wasn't actually real! Well, I guess the dancing was, sort of, but wow was that cut from Mac's triumphant Michael Jackson shirt-ripping moment to the reality of Mac horrifically yelling (and yelling!) an hysterical moment. Frank puking was the icing on the cake, as it were. That is indeed the gang we know and love, in all their pathetic glory.

See you next year, guys. And Charlie, sorry about Schmitty getting to bang The Waitress!

Oh, and we totally have to meet Psycho Pete eventually now, right?
