Killer Freaks From Outer Space Becomes ZombiU, Still Wii U Exclusive

Last year Ubisoft announced Killer Freaks from Outer Space, an FPS that will only be available on the Wii U. While the exclusivity remains intact, the game’s main enemies have shifted from weird aliens to flesh-hungry zombies.

The trailer shown during Ubisofts E3 2012 press conference showed freeze-framed snapshots across England in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. A business man puts a gun in his mouth, a driver rams a zombie off the London Bridge, and a woman is eaten alive while hanging off the edge of a building. The game looks bloody, intense, and downright grim.

The trailer was stylish and got us excited for the game, but we’re eager to see it in action. Will it still include the arcade gameplay seen last year in Killer Freaks from Outer Space? It takes a lot these days to make a zombie game truly stand out from the undead crowd.

Oh boy, more zombies.

Well, this looks like it has potential though. We'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully there will be more M-rated titles on the way for the Wii U.

I was hoping to see actual gameplay for this title. The trailer was gorgeous, but it lacked any real game substance.

This trailer for ZombiU looked pretty cool. I wish we saw gameplay footage, but it was enough to give me an incentive to buy a Wii U.

Want to see gameplay. Was excited for Killer Freaks and the trailer for ZombiU looks better and polished but heres to hoping for gameplay at Nintendo's Conference tom.

This is kind of disappointing. I was really interested in Killer Freaks. :[ But hey it's still possible for them to make it afterwards. A Zombie game is safer than an Alien shoot em up.

While I'm a little sad to see the Killer Freaks go away, the trailer for this pretty much sold me on the Wii U. It looks spectacular--and now I'm wondering if this was the game briefly glimpsed in that dreadful pre-E3 message from Nintendo yesterday...

Wow. As if I couldn't care less about this game after it's reveal last year. Swapping out all the aliens - which were at least going to be creative designs - with ZOMBIES? Wow, Ubi Soft - you FOUND A WAY for me to give less f**ks about this! Congratulations! ****ing Zombies.
