Carolyn Petit sneaks, snipes, and slashes her way through Unit 13 in this video review for the PlayStation Vita.
Gamespot's scores of Vita games are SPOT ON.......if they were told these were ps3 games. BUT THEY ARE IN YOUR HAAAAAAANDS. -mind blown its even possible-. Seriously, too harsh on these Vita titles.
So by unit they just mean 1 man :(
@col_swamp Unit 13 is a definite 7. However, GS underrated Uncharted GA. Uncharted is MUCH better than this game. IGN and gametrailers both gave uncharted 8.5+
Not bad for a handheld
The vita needs more specialty games (really hard games) or horror games in it to keep it intresting. Im not going to lie i bought Blazblue continum shift 2 extend for the vita and that its self almost made the vita worth it right now im waiting for Disgaea the new persona gravity shift and the killzone game for the vita.
THis game got a 7....Uncharted got a 7.......really wondering if I should get a vita now....or just wait.
It seems to me that this game deserved more than a 7. I would like to see it ported to the PC...
Love you Nintendo but Sony does have the better handheld
calm down people it wont be long until Resident Evil and Metal Gear make its way to Vita im sorry to say this but i passed on buying a Nintendo 3DS
i smell crap.
twinkies
Hmmm to Vita or not to Vita?
One can only take so much "ooh rah"
Looks pretty good. Definately not as good as MGS, but pretty good.
No story line, but it's one of the better vita games out.
7.0 is 7.0 higher than what I thought this game was gonna get. :P Great review!
MENDAR'S VOICE LOL
@carolynmichelle I'm way too glad to see no xenophobic (for want of a better word) comments throughout the page! LOVE you and your reviews for being totally unique!! :D
Peacewalker is a good example of a portable military shooter with great gameplay, great graphics (for its console) and bite-sized missions that also adds that extra layer of heart and narrative that pushes it from being a solid time waster into a full blown classic.
I'm a big fan of this game- pretty much every time I'm on public transit I try to knock out a mission and the length of most of them are just right for a portable game. It's lots of fun and for the most part you have to think a lot harder than in other TPS games because of the quick deaths and relatively smart enemies. That being said, I think 7.0 is a fair score (personally would've given it 7.5). It looks great, plays great and while the character banter is nice, I think if they formed some kind of narrative to tie the missions together (even a loose one) and gave the characters a bit more personality, it could've bumped up to an 8.0-8.5 - It's still a great purchase, and those who like military shooters will dig it, but it's not quite a "you-should-buy-a-Vita-just-to-play-this" kind of game.
@carolynmichelle I love your reviews Carolyn , you have an excellent presentating . You kept me interesting at any bit of info you've mentioned, Keep up the good work!
This review was very fair. I think people should pay less attention to scores and more attention to the actual points that the reviewer is making.
Darn, I got something stuck in my...
You see, this is exactly what I meant on my comment to Jane's Journey review. Carolyn spoke so clearly and passionately about the game that not only did I understood every single word she said, I am also compelled to buy a game which I was not intrigued with or interested to get in the beginning. This is how a video review should be done. Clear, concised, and gets you interested in playing the game (if it is good).
Mmmmm.not bad.playable.
Really fun game. The missions have a tonnnn of replay value, most of the non-timed missions have multiple paths with opportunities to flank/sneak. The AI is above average, there are a few quirks but they do work together to kill you.
Great review! But let's have a bit more respect for the reviewer. Nothing else in this video should matter other than the review itself.
played the demo, it was fun, but i tied up my money in 2 b2g1 free deals at best buy and target, and this was not an option. oh well. if it goes under 20 bucks i may pick it up. Great review!
I don't get why anyone is giving the reviewer a hard time. (a) Nobody knows anything about her, and (b) even if people's assumptions are correct, who really cares? Grow up and stop acting like a bunch of inbred hicks.
don't compare vitas games with x box or ps3 its a portable game after all people! portable game with such graphics i think its great
As I write this, I realize I'm adding to the fire. However, I do want to point out that it really isn't right to talk about the reviewer just because that person is different from the listener. Carolyn does great reviews and the review on Batman: Arkham City was spot on. This said reviewer has endured a lot but it never stopped her from delivering informative and eloquent reviews. Give credit where credit is due despite your opinion of someone's life. I don't agree with her review of this game but I can see her point. Carolyn is one of the few reviewers that can convince me to buy or not buy a game. That is simply because she tries to be accurate. I'd give this game an 8 but hey we are on GS after all.
@MafiaMusic Better than PilotWings or Steel Diver.
2:54...LOL! Stop the video right there...I'M SOLD!

'chuckles' obviously drew the short straw.
good review
this would be a superb game if it was 14.99 the price doesn't seem to fit a game with no competitive multiplayer or story

I'm sorry, but this reviewer's voice is just so gay Sounds like he should be critiquing fashion design instead
It scored higher the I thought it would. No reason to buy a Vita, but a good game.
