Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Video Review

 xboxgameman The Kinect is pretty much only used for voice control, such as telling your teammates where to stand or fire. This isn't a massive feature to the game. The only time where you get up wave your hands, is when you construct your weapons. I was watching my brother play it today, and he was pulling apart and replacing attachments to his guns. It's just plain awesome. :D

 I don't know what Tom Clancy games you've been playing, but the teammate AI has always been shady, particularly in the Vegas games.

Rewind even further back to the first Ghost Recon and R6 games, I specifically remember restarting missions because my teammates would chase a grenade into a room and die.

Somehow I doubt you even played Tom Clancy games prior to this...

 pvtluca Started playing TC games back when I got Rainbow Six on a 486 back in 1998 and then got a Pentium 133 to run it better. Kind of miss the old "Plan the assault" system that the original had... I have bought most of TC games since but missed out on the Splinter Cell games up until Conviction came out (and still love that game). So yeah... played a few and still got most of them that were released for 360.

I do sound as if I am trolling though... sorry about that. Just irritation when the game glitched out again (for the umteenth time). But it's just so damned annoying that there are so many things that could have been done better.

For example, add an option for first/third person like in previous Ghost Recon games (friend played it third person while I played it in first). I hate the current sticky reticle aiming system (again, why not give us options to aim manually and not stick on enemies) and I REALLY hate the game_on_rails mechanics that is too Wii like.Ghost Recon seems to get dumbed down more and more as time goes by. Ghost Recon 2 was the peak imho. You can choose the way to assault the target in that one iirc.

But  what I really loathe about Future Soldier (and what sent me off on the troll like behaviour) is that the maps has those invisible walls. If not invisible walls you "lose connection" to your own body. Nothing like running for obvious cover spots only to bounce off that force field to ruin your day (the mission in the hold of the ship is where that really pees me off) If it's blocked off PUT A CRATE THERE! Some sort of visual clue at least.

Maybe it's rose coloured glasses syndrome... but I do miss the old gameplay from GRAW2. I love shooters that let you choose the tactics like Operation Flashpoint too. Since Tom Clancy sold the name it's not the same anymore.

 Purpledust No unfortunately. In a few cases you need to do 4 way sync shots and other sections need a 4 way diamond extraction of a high value target.

 lpsyco666 There is no tension (other than anger) in this game. The last mission will have you throwing the controller because it decides when the enemy gets away (it's a chase).

Even MW3 is better than this for tactics.

 mrppower Personally I would say the game is OVERRATED. Perhaps it's because I have seen so many faults in the maps, glitches in the game engine, and just total lack of anything resolving real tactics that were in GRAW 1 and 2. Crazy decisions and really weird campaign that doesn't explain what is going on half the time (why was Kozak dropping from orbit lol).

 bloody_roar_fan Obviously you need to re-read my comment. It was in reference to previous comments about people saying "Ubisoft didn't bribe Gamestop which is why the score is so low". This is why I listed off multiple websites with the same score and proceeded to ask "do you think Ubi failed to bribe all of these sites?" Make sense now? Not trying to be rude but it's quite simple...

 Jim60360 not really. its apples and oranges FPS & TPS that done play anything alike the onyl thing thats similar are they are modern warfare games.

 oflow I agree. I only mention it because people are comparing the scores. I'm just saying, as far as presentation is concerned CoD is far more superior.
