Use 3D printing to make a cheap tilt-shift camera lens adapter

3D printed tilt-shift adapter

Tilt-shift photography is great, but picking up the right lens is costly. Thankfully there's a new Instructables to show you how to make a tilt-shift adapter for your camera for much less, though you'll need access to a 3D printer and some modelling skills to pull it off. In order to build the adapter you'll first have to take a series of measurements of your camera and lens using a calliper so...

Adobe Lightroom 4 arrives in the Mac App Store for $149.99

Adobe Lightroom 4 BETA

Adobe's Photoshop Lightroom 4, first released in early March, has made its way to the Mac App Store. Priced at $149.99, the photography app marks the first professional-caliber product Adobe is offering via Apple's digital storefront. Previous releases have included simpler, consumer-friendly editing tools like Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements alongside the company's Revel cloud-based photo library software. It's also worth pointing out that assuming the standard developer agreement is in play here, Apple will be collecting $45 with each and every download: judging by the app's popularity among photography pros and hobbyists alike, that's sure to add up to a healthy sum before long.

In the settings menu, what had once been a toggle for filtering out nude images is gone; replaced with an option that allows those on slower network connections to disable extra large...

NASA Space Shuttle Enterprise: the NYC fly-by in pictures

NASA shuttle Enterprise

This morning, the Space Shuttle Enterprise flew into New York City on the back of a NASA 747. Several weeks from now, the plane will come to its final resting place atop the Intrepid aircraft carrier, where it will become part of an exhibit, but for now it's still a flying machine — even if it needs a little help while airborne.

The Enterprise was airborne for the first time in decades, after spending time at the Air and Space Museum in...

Kodak Gallery set to go offline July 2nd after federal judge approves sale to Shutterfly

Kodak

Kodak will take its online photo hosting service offline July 2nd after a federal judge approved the sale of that business to Shutterfly — seemingly the only interested buyer — for $23.8 million. The company notified all Kodak Gallery users of the shutdown date in an email today, and also requested that customers who do not want their photos moved over to Shutterfly's servers provide direct notice to Kodak no later than May 28th.

As for...
