What is GameSpot Fuse?

GameSpot Fuse is a social service that makes it easy to stay connected with GameSpot's editors and your friends from GameSpot, Facebook, Twitter, and online games.

It's where you can be sure everyone cares about games as much as you do and where you'll meet like-minded gamers, some of them expert, some funny, and some colorfully opinionated.

GameSpot Fuse is your personal gaming dashboard
combining a customized stream of GameSpot's news, reviews, videos, and community with the ability to see what your friends are saying and playing.

It relies on three core activities
that have long been a part of GameSpot: following games, following people, and posting in discussion forums.

Never seen before on GameSpot
If you level up or receive a GameSpot achievement, your friends can now celebrate with you.

How can I get started?

To create an account, go to fuse.gamespot.com. If you're already a registered GameSpot user, just drop by fuse.gamespot.com while you're logged in.

The quickest way to get started is to follow games and follow people. This will fill your GameSpot Fuse feed with a stream of updates, showing you the most recent activity at a glance.

The What's Hot hub will highlight top stories, popular games, tips from the editors, and interesting community posts. All new users will automatically follow GameSpot to get their stream started.

Your privacy settings can be managed in the preference page. Please note that your posts are publicly visible by default and may appear on the What's Hot page for a brief period of time.

  • What can I expect to do with my personal space on fuse.gamespot.com?

A core philosophy of GameSpot Fuse is to put users in control of their profiles. You can delete your updates, and eventually you'll be able to remove anything from your profiles, including individual comments by other users. Because you control whom you follow and can block anyone from your stream, some of the forum-specific rules of conduct will be relaxed. See this post for more details.

You can currently access the full desktop version of Fuse from touch phones as well as from tablets, but we are working on a brand-new version of Fuse optimized for mobile as well as mobile apps.

  • What's next for the new GameSpot Fuse?

As early testers have noted, the new GameSpot Fuse profiles and the old-style profiles have a lot in common, and we will be unifying these two experiences throughout the year. The new GameSpot Fuse profiles do not currently include several key features, such as blogs and collections, so we decided to keep the old profiles in place until we can more gracefully transition these features. Meanwhile, we are conceptualizing an entirely new profile experience that more accurately portrays your identity as a gamer and will bring these features online one at a time. In the near future, you can expect to see a new achievement and about me page.

  • How can I submit feedback or report bugs?

We're still working out the bugs as we go along. In addition, we'll continue to add features and change things up in the coming weeks and months. Please report bugs in the Fuse v2 forum Fuse v2 forum and give us your valued comments via the Feedback tab on each page within Fuse.

  • Which web browsers does GameSpot Fuse support?

GameSpot Fuse is very much a forward-looking project and is built to take advantage of modern browsers. As such, we have abandoned support for Internet Explorer 6 and 7. We encourage our users to take advantage of modern, standards-compliant browsers such as Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and Internet Explorer (9+). Users unable to install or update software on their systems can turn to Google's Chrome Frame to improve their browsing experience.
