Hopefully 'Diablo III' will be patched soon since hack-n-slash games like this often have memorable value.

Wensea10 11 pts

Infinity Ward was only known to Wensea10 because of 'Call of Duty: Black Ops' which was excellenty also typical!

Patrick "Trick" Klepeck getting all the hot scoops.

Bobby Kotick is the root of all evil...both in Diablo and Call of Duty. Dear board of Activision...if you value your livelihood and your reputation as a company...GET RID OF YOUR CEO. HE IS RUINING YOU.

On a side note...the Diablo server errors made my attendance at the midnight release utterly and totally pointless. Nice one Blizzard.

Gelugon_baat 439 pts

d_kell411 The Activision-Blizzard board isn't listening. In fact, Kotick is getting them doles of money, plenty to satisfy them. Customer satisfaction be damned.

What I think is Blizzard should have never made Diablo 3 forced online for SP mode. Was a mistake in a big way and this proves it. Stop being greedy Blizzard we bought the game you stop controlling it.

highlanderjim 9 pts

The problems Diablo has go beyond just overloaded servers atr launch(which is to be expected as its essentially an MMO)

Its game breaking poor optimisation thats been known about for a long time during the beta. that being said I myself have managed to kind of fix said issues via some tinkering but refuse to level beyond the beginning of  ACT2 with anything less than every setting maxxed out! I want to enjoy the game in its fullest, not some low shadowless cutdown version!

Until then I have been having fun making alts, crafting and noticing my personal stench levels raise quite a bit. I think my pants are a level 52 swamp demon about now. I Dread to think what kind of hideous mass of foulness Id be had the game actually been 100%!

It doesn't surprise me much to hear the news about Blizz and Diablo. Maybe it's me, but it just seems like the quality is slowly going down with the company and their products. That's sad, too, because they used to put out top notch games inside and out. Meh, either way, I'll probably pick up the game...when the price comes down...a lot.

YSDG 11 pts

Funnily enough, I've experienced no problem with playing Diablo 3. There are lags but that's my computer's problem. the only downturn for me is the game itself. Not being able to distribute stats and skills on your own just makes me disappointed with the game.. :(

gregguilder88 5 pts

i think the companys are bad as each other

Nickplays 13 pts

The game industry is just such a weird circus lately. it gave me a new idea for reviewing games and events and publishers, hell even individuals in the industry. It's called The Disappointment Meter. See it works like a game review score but just in reverse. For example a low score is actually good. You guys should use it when you go to E3 this summer. You can give Projected Disappointment scores in the bottom corner of the screen while you just continue to smile with and nod with the game makers and games you're showcasing.

OdinssonThor 18 pts

Yea diablo 3 problems affected me much...NOT...i will never support greedy companies, especially when they retexture 10y old game and try to make billions of it by constant connection. I just hope Torchlight 2 will be avaliable without steam, cuz i hate them guys so very very much,  greedy annoying sobs!

Jato_81 6 pts

OdinssonThor  It sounds to me you don't like to pay for games. Blizz has made D3 to require a constant connection for a few reasons. One is so you can take your singleplayer character online to play with your friends, something you could not do with D2 . another reason is to try and prevent piracy. for someone to pirate D3 they would need to run an emulated server. I have no problem with Blizz trying to do that. They spent millions developing the game why are they not aloud to turn a profit from it. Its not a good business model to spend millions on something to give it away for free. And whats wrong with Steam? The title they have for DDL are at least 20% then you can get from a retail shop, at lease here in Australia. Its a much better system than EA's Origin where you pay the same amount as a retail shop.

Yulaw2000 84 pts

Jato_81 "It sounds to me you don't like to pay for games" How did you get to that conclusion from what he said? There is no need for a always online connection, they can let players choose. Play offline but you don't get to import that character, or keep connected and you can use it in PvP and the P2W stuff and I think we know that this won't stop piracy, just hurt legitimate customers.

Yulaw2000 84 pts

Jato_81

O, and I can tell you what's wrong with Steam. It stops you from reselling your games, so if you feel like the game wasn't worth your money then you have no way to get any back and the DD model that it has popularised gives publishers/developers way to much power.

EA's Origin is bad as well of course.

N0tYrBeezin 6 pts

So would we prefer Activision to fire Zampella and West and then investigate them? Why is this a big news?

moonlightwolf01 49 pts

N0tYrBeezin Because its corporate espionage (which is illegal). Large publishers committing criminal activities is generally classified as big news.

riotinto876 7 pts

as long as cod sheep keep buying activision's games, they'll just keep being this way and nothing will stop them.

riotinto876 7 pts

as long as the cod sheep keep buying activision's games, I dont think anything like this will matter

spidermanmon 13 pts

thay can delay that real money AH as long as thay want i could care less about it.

liam82517 23 pts

I will never touch this or any other game that has always on drm. Activision/blizzard can take a good long hard suck of my chocolate starfish, if they think Im going to pay for an online single player game.

Deihjan 10 pts

It's odd, because I just finished my first Diablo 3 run. 21 hours on Normal, alone. I won't spoil it, but I've lost a little faith in Blizz, not because of the server failure but something else.

It was amazing as always beyond that, however. Smooth, beautiful CGI cutscenes up to Blizzard standards, but alas that isn't completely enough to heal this fangirl's heart.

I hope Chris Metzen reads the comment I made on the D3 forums... *sigh*

Back to Mists of Pandaria beta.

sasami_adachi 27 pts

Thank you Blizzard for owning up to your failure - albeit a couple of days late. Next time, have the apology ready prior to the release. Send it out as soon as something goes wrong and your technical staff deems the issues cannot be addressed in a timely manner. Oh, and some form of compensation to those players affected by the service outage would be nice too. ;)

It wouldn't surprise me if those claims in the report filed by Infinity Ward were true. Heads of big corporations love politics and maneuvers - to them it is all a big game. Even so, these claims sound totally like something out of a movie or a video game. Perhaps Respawn can make a game out of this?

Esxi 12 pts

If Blizzard wants that kind of DRM on their games they won't get any money from me. Too bad so many people don't care and fork over the cash. Blizzard won't stop their BS if their games are cash cows.

pierrey22 22 pts

WOW just WOW, WTF Activition....my Dislike has just risen more than that i though it could have, i wish i cause get my money back for all Prototype 2 pre-purchase on Steam, I am NEVER going to support Activition again. EVER!! those...that's just disgraceful. They must be like, but...SHUT THEM DOWN NOW COURTS!!! NOW!!

pierrey22 22 pts

HAHA another Blizzard fail, wait...the time it took for Diablo 3 to release, like many years, shouldn't they have knows their fan base, because of lots and lots of people saying, WE WANT NEWS, and shouldn't they have fixed almost all the bugs in the many years of deving, so basikly they did nothing for 4 years and rushed for 1 (or how ever long it took to come out (so take one off that and you have the answer)) and just made a poor game, my dislike of Blizzard just went up, I though they were a good dev team, i just didn't like, or still don't, any of their games, but they did make successful and well made games, i guess the latter is no longer the truth.

5SI-GonePostal 6 pts

Just wish people would understand the differences between Publishers and developers.  One of them deals with making the money and setting deadlines, the others work their asses off to make a game.............i let you work out which is which

Johny_47 23 pts

No, Diablo 3 didn't effect me at all, I'm just not a fan of Diablo. Another game that's released with terrible glitches and faults, I understand how the angry players feel, I pre-ordered Test Drive Unlimited 2 and when I got it I had to download a update for about half an hour and then the servers for the online play were 'unavailable'.

Developers should really keep their mouths shut until their really confident about the progress of their games instead of making way too soon release dates and selling unfinished games.

pierrey22 22 pts

Johny_47 HAHA i remeber that with TDU2, OMG...RAGED for ages...

kalikomarks08 7 pts

Activision allways been shady. look what they did to testdrive unlimited. Screwed up the 1st mmo driving game twice!!!!

pierrey22 22 pts

kalikomarks08 well TDU2 was good, just shabby AI.

dahui58 6 pts

Activision is literally full of scumbags, originally I strongly disliked them and knew full well they are in it 100% for the money. Now I think that they're also actually vindictive/sadistic arseholes.

PrplMnkyDshwsr7 21 pts

I've have the same connectivity issues that others have but only during peak hours.  Aside from that the game runs smooth and is F****** Awesome!  Just what I needed to finally get over the stain on the gaming world known as Mass Effect 3.

pyshco 5 pts

diablo 3 is running pretty well now considering the problems theyve been having ive yet to get a disconnection or very bad lagg issues ive noticeed a minor blip in lagg every 1 second every hour or so  but its so minor compared to most games diablo isnt running that bad i mean skyrim was pretty unplayable in most parts for a few months

NickyWithATicky 65 pts

This court case is gonna be fun! If only someone could live-stream it, I could watch it all night (yay for time zones).

Take a drink every time someone denies something.

Take a shot every time someone says 'project icebreaker'.

toonsim2 14 pts

Now I hate Activision, and I hate EA but; which is worse.  Theres only one way to find out, FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE4GreatesGame 21 pts

What has happened bet Activision and Infinity Ward is based on "greed". The same can be applied to most other gaming companies like Capcom, EA. Sony, Naughty Dog and Konami are exempt from this band of idiots because they always deliver what they preach.

Sulifer 9 pts

i did not have any errors after the first hour is was released, finished the game now tho :)

DarkLord 8 pts

3ablo - Home of Digital Swords and Magic Pants!! I want some magic pants!

krishnaV_ 20 pts

Its disappointing.. This is what happens when you spend all dev time in creating fabulous trailers and awesome animations instead of working on the actual game.. or beta testing it right

Diablo, Raccoon City... the list continues..

Hellequin85 16 pts

no offline, no buy. also would've solved a lot of the problems

slycatch 37 pts

Nothing like this would happen if you could play the game offline.. There's no excuse for this!!

I won't buy diablo! I won't play it.

Yulaw2000 84 pts

Blizzard could fix most of the problems they have brought on their customers by an offline patch, so they could at least play single player. That would also alleviate server overload.

thribs 38 pts

I'm confused. Doesn't Activision own Infinity Ward?

dg3215 35 pts

 thribs

and blizzard lol bad news day for them

Electronicarts 8 pts

@thribs well It does but the real owners of Infinity ward went bcs that Activision did not pay their money.

DOW161 20 pts

So they released a buggy game, well guess what. They all do it now and it sucks. I think their needs to be some sort of lore against bringing out a game that does not work.

Activision are evil and I am not going to buy any of their games.

RAHBRT 36 pts

Activision should use that money they're wasting spying and use it to fix D3 and build a better engine for COD.

HaloPimp978 68 pts

RAHBRT Yep they need to make a new engine for it cause COD just looks so outdated.

Verenti 7 pts

The Diablo bugs have not affect me. I gave up on the series at the beginning of Act III of Diablo 2 and never looked back. And seeing all the commotion surrounding D3 just makes me feel vindicated in my decision.
