Tenacious D are gearing up for the release of their long-awaited new album Rize of the Fenix, and though that won't be out till May 15th, you can hear snippets of new tracks in this hilarious promo video. In the clip, Doctor Bill Teetz (played by Bob Odenkirk, a.k.a. Saul Goodman to you Breaking Bad fans) and bassist Rudy Sarzo (of Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, and Ozzy Osbourne's band) of the Tinnitus Institute attempt to discover the effects of extreme tinnitus. When exposed to new Tenacious D tracks symptoms include violent outbursts, head-banging, a spontaneous make out sesh, ear-bleeding, tears of joy and all-around uber-rockage.

"This is for real," said Odenkirk. "When Jack gave me an early version of Rize of the Fenix I couldn't stop blasting it. I couldn't play it loud enough or often enough, and every night for a week, I went to bed with the sweet sounds of tinnitus ringing merrily in my ears, and yet, the next day I couldn't help cranking it again. I don't know if there is a Tinnitus Institute or not, but I predict there will be. Blame it on Rize."
