I spent most of the night and the next morning trying to log on the Diablo 3 without luck. Today I finally got about 3 hours of game play in and it's lagging like crazy.  When I try to sell items, when I use way points, when large groups of enemies appear leaving me hopeless to fight and dead most of the time.  Totally unacceptable for a single player game!

Exactly how could Capcom claim the beat 'em up market is oversaturated? The only other fighters I can remember us getting this year are Soulcalibur V and Tekken Hybrid. That's not cannibalism or too many contestants: that's just survival of the fittest.

When Apple was about to release the ipad some critics said that it was bad move, because it would compete with apple's other products. Jobs answered with the (now famous) remark: if you don't cannibalize yourself, someone else will".

teclologoexisto 5 pts

Actually it was steve jobs who made that use of the word "cannibalism" popular

If competition is cannibalism then I guess monopoly is massacre

Kyrylo 6 pts

I think their sales are dew to being lazy money making company instead of one of the best gaming companies, like it was in PS2 era.

7C7R7N7 24 pts

I think that MvsC 3 is still better than Street x Tekken.  Hopefully someday they make Capcom vs Square-Enix. Hehehe!

Whitebloodsun 19 pts

Zombies was once a human too, so when they eat people it can still be considered cannibalism. Wait, what the hell am I talking about?! /(=_=)"

naryanrobinson 52 pts

Wow, hole in one.  Such clever game people.  Yeah it was definitely because they collaborated with an overseas studio to create an amazing game.

Totally had *nothing* to do with the fact fanboys saw the name "Resident Evil" on that crap and instantly threw their cash at the monitor.

It's hard to tell who's the stupidest when you hear a story like that...

Flaression 6 pts

i cancelled my preorder the moment i heard about the dlc.... it could be part of the reason but not THE reason. the same way dlc is not the entire reason. did they forget they refused to supply GAME/gamestation with copies that would of got them more than a few 'casual purchases' (meaning they go in, see it, buy it)? even if they acknowledge the other issues why they are not able to accept they are using a crappy business model which is why some people not willing to buy their game is beyond me.

MUKUSS 15 pts

Ok capcom, you've made a cool 2 million off of re raccoon city now do us a favor and have slantsix fix the issues with this game and make this an even better game and 2 more things....add a 2p split screen mode for on & off line and I want a psvita version...make it so:):)

dirtymushi 5 pts

I am a huge Street Fighter and Tekken fan but I can't justify buying half a game for full price when I know the final version will also charge full price in about a year. Of course, by that point I probably wont be interested. You fooled me once with SF and twice with MVC... I will never buy the first version of a Capcom fighting game again. Who's the sucker now Capcom?

CraigBDP 5 pts

I never buy a beat-em-up on release they are way too expensive for what they are, i honestly feel all beat-em-up titles should be £20 max :/

Vince21C 13 pts

I feel like he is trying to charm us with them eyebrows.

It's working...

Canibalism? Its all about the DLC shenanigans.

Stabba_The_Kutt 10 pts

First of all: am I the only one that has no clue what the eff capcom is talking about with this canabalism thing? What canabalism games came out? And how does this relate to SFxT?

Second: The reason SFxT is failing is because Tekken fans, loyal though they may be, are few and far between. Even though they make the same amount of noise as fans of games with a much larger following (mortal kombat, Soul Blade, Dead or Alive). When I throw this game on when I have a bunch of friends over, 1 dude will be like "Sweet! King Vs Abel" while the other 9 of 10 people are like, "who the f*ck is King?"

Third: Why does the gaming community continue to support one of the most cash-grabbiest devs out there? They did this back in the 90's too with the (dozen or so) seudo-sequels to SFII, each with only about an hour of additional programming going into each successor.

Fast forward to present day: There has not been a sequel to the SF series since SF4 which was actually worth any $. Everything that has come out since then could have been bonus content for SF4.

Rant complete.

PC-RUL3S 11 pts

They take years and years to make a game and blizzard still manage to screw it up.

TERMINATOR-SSD 22 pts

i feel there are too many 2.5D fighting games, Street Fighter 4, super, arcade lol Mortal kombat, SF x T etc etc. I have Super SF4 and Mortal Kombat so i will wait for a real 3d fighter now, maybe wait for Tekken x Street Fighter

SeptuagintXXX 24 pts

I've mained blanka since street fighter 2 came out for the SNES, yet they want me to pay $15 to unlock him even though he's already ON THE FREAKING DISK!  FU capcom.  I'm not your customer anymore.

jfontalba 6 pts

I feel so guilty for buying RE: Operation racoon city, i'm part of that ridiculous number now (+2.000.000) and is SUCH a bad game, yet capcom thinks that was the way to go from now on. I helped destroy resident evil, in a small way tho but still it sucks.

NeoIostars 26 pts

is Capcom blaming its own fighting games for SFxT's poor sales? You wouldn't call "cannibalism" if you're talking about rival developers' fighting games, you call them "COMPETITION". Really, Capcom, is that the best PR you can come up with?

endorbr 84 pts

Ah... nobody wanted our crappy rehash melding of Street Fighter and Tekken... Must have been all the, um... cannibals... Yeah... that's it... cannibals keeping people from buying a copy.

Aentikraist 12 pts

cannibalism??? lamost no other game was so important as the cross of 2 coolest fighting franchises and u hide under DLC shield?? so u rather have that retarded dlc than selling a full game???????????????.........................................

Lexicar 17 pts

I like your concept of "Game Breaking Bug" :P

RogerioFM 22 pts

@Lexicar The players sometimes could not log back and lost all progress, makes sense to me.

PresidentDman 16 pts

Johnny had a blue scarf......... You do not have a scarf.....

Darkreaper_1 8 pts

I think Capcom doesn't really understand what Cannibalism means!

jimmytaker 24 pts

Cannibalism???  Why not the On-Disc DLC???

krishnaV_ 19 pts

Where is Capcom getting it's info from ?? Raccoon City a success.. ?? wth !!

tom77l1 6 pts

Personally, I am frequently suprised and annoyed when games I release do not meet sales targets because of cannibalism. I feel for you, Capcom.

HaloPimp978 48 pts

The real reason SF X T didn't sell well is because people know all about Capcom's on disc DLC crap and already know they are going to release another version.

Fly-Sky 6 pts

Cannibalism is not the word to use unless you feel that eating other people can stop game sales so be it. If they say that they had too much competition why not release it another. munch :D

SadPSPAddict 28 pts

Think the mickey taking on disc DLC was also part of the problem. Also the game wasn't great! We rented it and no-one in the house ( me, wife and 4 boys ) didn't rate it!!

Thanks for the update!

cfstar 40 pts

Hey guys, cut Blizzard some slack.

i mean, they only had like half a decade to get it right....

Smokescreened84 82 pts

I feel it's more a case of Capcom's fighters bringing nothing new to the table.  Such games have been the same thing for a long time with very little that's new.  While the 2D/2.5D fighters from Capcom, as well as the Tekken series, are still doing the exact same things that were done twenty years ago, other fighting titles like Mortal Kombat - even if it was only for the one time - and the Soul Calibur series have tried things like character creation and additional story modes.

Well SC3 had the fun Chronicles Of The Sword mode, and should have kept it in and improved it for SC4 and 5, while one MK game tried character creation which wasn't too bad as well the create a fatality mode and a story mode.

They have also tried none-gory ways of defeating your opponents, like the ultimate humiliation of reducing your opponent to an infant.

Yet the Street Fighter, Tekken and mixed Street Fighter titles are still the exact same game with each release and try nothing new that's interesting.

Err... Uh-Oh...

(Someone who's playing Demon Hunter with Templar+shield...)

Gladiator_Sofi 24 pts

Cannibalism, WHAT THE HECK are they talking about?

Gelugon_baat 400 pts

Gladiator_Sofi Just a bad choice of words.

ElegantAccent 12 pts

Gladiator_Sofi Cannibalism in business refers to your own similar products taking sales away from others.  This would be true if CAPCOM released 2 or more fighters close to each other.  As far as I can tell, the didn't more than 1 and it was strictly competition they faced.

brunaves 5 pts

Lets say that most people choose to buy Fighting Games without inside DLC or Games that will be not obsolet in less than one year

businessfox 5 pts

Just let Capcom know that fan want RE 6 to be perfect, I don't want to see a disappointing review like RE: Operation Racoon City. Bause I am currently playing the game and I am disappointed with the shooting system set up on that game. And on top of that everytime you try shooting something you go against a wall for no reason. Oh well has a fan I only got the game to enjoy the new story line. So the game was good for something.

Mferrer 5 pts

Capcom, please... Stop the DLC s*it!!!

Diablo 3 -» Complete failure for Blizz who has the money, the experience of Diablo 2 and WoW under their belt, and the time (10+ years!) to make and 'polish' the game...

They made a decision of making it Online only, even if a lot of peoples want to play it singleplayer (or multiplayer casually, with boyfriend/wife and such...) and don't give a damn about the Real Cash Auction House (and all the server security needed)... And now they just starting paying the price. Lot of discontent and a Mass-Effect-3-like low Metacritics User reviews...

ZoidGamer 5 pts

About Diablo 3......bugs are always to be expect regardless how self important Blizzard thinks they iron them out. Moot point. The real issue is them forcing you to stay connected just so you can play your single player experience is utter...HORSESHIT! Especially when their server has issues. Another Moot Point....since they will only listen if the masses stop buying their games...too tell them that this is bad practice and to find another way to combat hackers.

StreetFigherXTekken.....great game....crappy greedy corporate decision ruins what should have been another solid figher for Capcom. Simple. Capcom if you want to nickle and dime it....do it like other developers and publishers do. Release the title and then strategically feed the masses in 1 to 2 week intervals with DLC you have to.....DOWNLOAD! from the website so people don't feel disallusioned to feeling that you guys planned it from the get go to nickle and dime your customers.

3Minotaur3 42 pts

Cannibalism?!?... How about almost the same game than the last, with few tweaks here and there (4 fighters being the biggest one), Call of Duty style...

Funny how it's never the fault of bad developpment decisions... Always blame others for your mistakes is a tenacious tendancy in gaming developpment, these days...

Also spend Diablo release night looking at error 37 though sometimes I'ld have the privilege of error 75

stailcookie 13 pts

No link to report about how WoW login servers were basically down while the D3 login issues and hotfixes were taking place?

GarGx1 14 pts

Capcom learned that there are at least 2 million people out there who will happilly buy crappy games

I bought my sexy new Diablo 3 game spent forever installing it. I was so excited sweet was dripping i cheered for joy when it was ready to play. I watched the intro with glee preparing to jump in to hell and love every minute of it clicked log in. Fail over and over again, I tried over, still no luck. Finely I gave up and watched a new full metal movie. My point is it is now the second day of me owning this game and i haven't even got passed the first menu.Fail Fail Fail

X_oddgod_X 13 pts
