This year, a trio of big names made some savvy category shifts for the upcoming 2012 Emmys that caused a lot of attention amongst Emmy watchers. Now that he's out of the shadow of former star Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer ("Two and a Half Men") has jumped from the Comedy Supporting Actor race (which he won in 2009) to Comedy Lead Actor. Last year's Best Miniseries champ "Downton Abbey" is back again this time around, only now it's decided to contend in the Drama Series categories. Meanwhile, "American Horror Story" has pulled a "reverse 'Downton'" of sorts and declared itself to be a Miniseries as opposed to a Drama Series. Got all that straight?
Which other TV series and stars should consider a category swap at this year's Emmys? Here are some of Gold Derby's suggestions. What are yours?
