Remode to commence hiring run with new office

Independent developer wants to double staff headcount to 25 over next two years

Remode Studios is to expand in to a new office in Plymouth next month, the company’s MD has revealed to Develop.

Ella Romanos said that having already doubled the number of developers at the studio to 15 in the last 18 months, she hoped the new studio would meant it could increase that number to 25 over the next one to two years.

The news of the studio’s expansion comes after it signed a partnership with Habbo Hotel social giant Sulake as part of its third party developer program, with its first title on the platform to release in July.

Remode is the first developer to join the scheme, which will see its games released to Sulake’s customer base of more than ten million users a month.

As well as the Sulake deal, Romanos revealed she was currently in discussions with more companies about further potential partnerships as the developer looks to grow and expand its offerings.

“We launched in August 2007 and for the last five years we’ve been trying to strengthen the brand and grow our team and we were really looking for projects that could broaden the scope of our expertise,” Romanos told Develop.

“We’re really looking for a range of bespoke partnerships, and this really represents the first of a number of partnerships we are looking to build.

“I think Habbo is a great place to be our first partner, because obviously they are pioneering in their space and they really want to move forward. So it was just a really good opportunity for us to build these key strategic partnerships.”
