That's his whole schtick. He obviously wants the attention, and starting rumors and talking out of his ass is a great way to get it.
I'm sure he must be worth something behind the scenes, otherwise he wouldn't have that job, but it begs the question how much of him is hot air, and how much is actual value.
I've seen several businesses with guys like that. They talk too loud, and too much, for anyone to realize that they aren't actually making money for the company.
And when you add a media profile to that, it just makes it even harder to fire them. It could also open doors in terms of talking to people, but it's very open ended.
If I was working at Wedbush Morgan I'd consider an article like that an embarrassment. I don't think they'd like for everyone to think that they're a bunch of Pachters.
