Closing Note

Thanks everyone for awesome lyrics suggestions -we had a long discussion weighting all the best entries, and ended up deciding to go with „Kameraden, wir kehren Heim!“, by Fjs Falkonos, as the lyrics for the Moon Nazi National Anthem.

Thanks a lot again for Wrecking this up for us - next, it's time to sing it!

Description

This one goes especially to you all German-speaking Wreckers.

We need a national anthem for the Moon Nazis. They'll be singing it all across the movie.

We've already chosen the basis of the song - it's an awesome 1800's German march song called Die Wacht am Rhein ("Watch on the Rhine"). The song is here:

Now what I want you to do is to come up with brand new Moon-Nazified lyrics for the song. It's an imperative that the lyrics are in proper German, but since I don't understand a word in German, I also need an approximate translation of the suggested lyrics.

The lyrics should follow the original lyrics, and the original lyrics can be found here.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Die_Wacht_am_Rhein#Text

I'm especially interested in lyrics for the 1st and 2nd stanza and the refrain, but if you feel poetic, feel free to do the whole song, we might end up needing it anyway.

You can go quite nuts, but make it singable. The text should be talking about the Nazis watching over the Earth, and coming back to conquer it when the time is right.

If you're not sure if the lyrics are singable, just try to sing it. We're gonna put several dozens of people singing that song, and we want it to be singable on the set.

Alright, folks. Go nuts!

Don't look at this as spam

I know this has no freaking thing with original post, but anyone considering lyrics like this?

Walking through the ancient forest
The aryan wind at my back
Searching for a time forgotten
A sign of a glorious past
evoke a once dead spirit
Proof that hope is not lost
He lays down his soul before me
My wind now embraces though

Cries of ancestral voices
Penetrate my thoughts and dreams
I attempted narcotic poisons
To obscure their painful screams
The truth has broke through the silence
Ignorance no longer bliss
I rise above primate vices
No triumph more grand than this

Mondesmacht/Moonforce

Es saust ein Schwert mit Überschall,
mit hellem Schein und Donnerhall:
Daheim, daheim, zum Deutschen Heim
wer will der Erde Hüter sein?

(Refrain)

und alle Strahlen blitzen hell;
der Deutsche Flieger, stramm und stark
Er stützt die heil`ge Mondesmacht!

Er blickt hinauf zur Galaxie,
wo Heldenväter niederschau`n
und schwört mit stolzer Kampfeslust:
Der Globus Deutsch wie meine Brust!

Solang ein Antrieb rot noch glüht,
noch eine Hand den Pult bedient,
und noch ein Arm den Phaser spannt,
betritt kein Feind hier deine Front!

Translation:

A sword is dashed with supersonic speed
like shining bright and thunderbolt
home, home to the german home
who will defend our earth divine?

Dear earthland, put your mind at rest.
Dear earthland, put your mind at rest.
Firm stands, the plan to our battle, the battle shines bright.
Firm stands, the plan to our battle, the battle shines bright.

The haunebu moves fast.
and all the radiates brightly flash.
The german aviator, upright and strong.
He props the holy moon force!

He looks up to the galaxie
where ancient heroes glance down,
and swears with proud pugnacity:
The globe will remain German like my chest!

As long as an drive (from the Ufo) glow red
a hand can use a console
and one arm still holds the phaser
no enemy will here enter your frontline

Haunebu:

Greetings Gabriel

„Kameraden, wir kehren Heim!“ / "Comrades, let us go home!"

OK, here is my version oft the Moon Nazi National Anthem. This anthem is written in blood on a cold and lonesome night, about over 355000 km away from home. What it is in my hymn: technology, firepower and modern warfare? No. This hymn is about the yearning of his comrades - a desire, named home. This song is about the dream to get back home. A dream about pride, illusion and love for the fatherland. Not only to the Rhine – but all in the reich.
This Song is absolutely singable. I sing this song under the shower, every morning (lol). I hope you have fun with it. If necessary, I can send you a sung version of the Anthem :-)

--------------------------------------------------

The German lyrics:
„Kameraden, wir kehren Heim!“

1st stanza
Motorenlärm am Firmament,
und gleißend hell der Himmel brennt:
Ins Reich, ins Reich, ins deutsche Heim!
Wann wirst Du wieder Heimat sein?

Refrain
Unser Vaterland, die Ähren stehen,
unser Vaterland, wir heimwärts ziehen:
Eisern - und treu dem Volk,
das Land befreien!
Eisern - und treu dem Volk,
das Land befreien!

2nd stanza
Wenn Blut noch durch die Adern rinnt,
vom Greisen bis zum kleinen Kind,
beginnt der Kampf in Mondes Hallen,
und Eisen wird vom Himmel fallen.

3rd stanza
Der Feind wird seine Toten zählen,
wenn eisern wir einst Rache nehmen;
mit Herz und Stolz und Kampfesmut
getilgt die Schmach mit Feindesblut.

4th stanza
Von München, Frankfurt bis Berlin,
wir hoffen auf ein Wiedersehn;
Und kämpfen furchtlos bis zum Sieg,
bis der Feind am Boden liegt.

5th stanza
Der Weg ist frei, der Sturm vergeht,
die Fahne sanft im Winde weht:
An Donau, Elbe, Pegnitz, Rhein,
werden wir zu Hause sein!

--------------------------------------------------

The English lyrics:
"Comrades, let us go home!"

1st stanza
Engine noise at the firmament,
and glistening light burns the sky:
To the reich, to the reich, to the german home!
when will you be homeland again?

Refrain
Our fatherland, the spikes stands high,
our fatherland, we turn towards our homeland:
Iron - and true to the nation,
we´ll free the country!
Iron - and true to the nation,
we´ll free the country!

2nd stanza
When blood still runs through our veins,
from the old to the little child;
fight begins in moon´s halls,
and iron will fall from sky above.

3rd stanza
The enemy will count his dead,
when we´ll get our revenge;
with heart and proud and full of fighting spirit,
eradicate the shame with blood of our enemies.

4th stanza
From Munich, Frankfurt to Berlin,
we hope to see them soon again;
And fight fearless to victory,
until the enemy lies on the ground.

5th stanza
The path is free, the storm is over,
the flag is blowing gently in the wind:
At Danube, Elbe, Pegnitz, Rhine,
we will be at home!

Hey Dirk

"An Donau, Elbe, Pegnitz, Rhein,
werden wir zu Hause sein!"

Why not! It is just one time and clear to understand, what Fjs mean!
No penetrant Rhein Song! (lol)

Greetz Gabriel

Dirk Mengel December 31, 2010 00:34 Flag

..the movie will also not show the rivers in your last verse...

"An Donau, Elbe, Pegnitz, Rhein,
werden wir zu Hause sein!"

nevertheless I love this verse - and don't think it matters if someone from a foreign country don't know them.
I like it much more if movies challenge me a bit - than to keep everything simple and clear so that everybody understands everything in the first sight.
by the way - the Rhine should be known everywhere in the world - as even I know about the Mississippi, the Nile or the Ganges...
I can't believe that a german don't know the Rhine - but If there is one - I hope he won't find the way to the cinema - as he will surely misunderstand the film...

Gabriel Wolf December 29, 2010 13:47 Flag

Hey Dirk

Maybe the germans would understand it as an synonym - but what is with the rest of the world watching that movie? Everyone would think...Rhine? Where is that and when did we see it in the movie? They sing about that patriotic but you never see something with the rhine! It would irritate the not german (but maybe the germans also) audience. You hear this song through the whole movie!

Greetings Gabriel :-)

Dirk Mengel December 29, 2010 13:34 Flag

@gabriel: ok - thumb up.. but I think the versions are not that different as you wrote - even the other uses the Rhine a lot. but the Song was developed from the "wacht am Rhein" and As I feel it in the mashup it Stands As a synonym for the Lost Homeland.

Gabriel Wolf December 29, 2010 12:52 Flag

Hey Fjs

----------------------------------------------

I see it like you ( the thumb are not so representativ - cause the filmmakers take the song they need for the movie - not the song with the most thumbs) The Originalsong has it`s own special meaning depending on the rhein. So it worked in that time. It makes absolut no sense to use the rhein in the kontext of the moon. Also the tenor of the original song is different. It has to do with protecting the rhein. The Moon Nazis need an own special song, that worked with their feelings, thoughts and sights. After 50 Years on the moon...who wants to protect the rhein? Also i think that a songpuzzle like "The Mashup" either make no sense. It has the most thumbs but it is just patriotic with challenge. There is no feeling!

Hi.

----------------------------------------------------

Thank you, that you like my version. Because of the refrain can be of different opinion. Each version is unique. I don't think, you can make one songversion of different versions - Texts are not a Lego building set.
I have not made the Rhine in the focus - that does not fit in the context of my anthem.

Lovely Greeting from the Rhine ;-)

in (our) Fatherland the spikes stands high,
dear (our) Fatherland - let's face home..
Like Îron - loyal - to free the country
back to the nation - to the german rhine

might be the (our) - variant is more powerful as it sounds a bit wrong in german, but even more "hymnic"...

Dirk Mengel December 29, 2010 01:11 Flag

like this shot very much too...
the second verse is really great....

I hope a native speaker will collect the best verses from all shots for the final version and puzzle this together with laibach - who have a good feeling for such things (that it sounds good for german and foreign ears...)

I have only concerns regarding the refrain - as I think the refrain is the weak point in all shots.
The refrain is the core of the song, and I don't think we found a really good version after all...

I tried to get yours singable smoothly, but I failed... my suggestion version that rhymes well and fits in the verse measure:

Im (Uns) Vaterland die Ähren stehen,
Lieb (Uns) Vaterland - lasst's heimwärts gehn..
Eisern - Treu - das Land befreien
Heim zum Volk - zum deutschen Rhein...

..hope you like it, think it kicks.....

Hey Fjs

We love you too - great Work Fjs ;-)

____
The time spent in space can do it that the homesick of people there means they want to lay their feet on the ground anywhere on Earth. It is all the same what continent it will be...

But let mr Vuorensola judge if they are just wanting to go home to Germany or anywhere on earth. Is earth the homeland for them or Germany, a part of Europe?

And I am not pointing to any neonazi meanings, the place in the Moon makes anyone wanting to go home, that is back to Earth.

Retaining the Spirit...

As others have said, these guys will be aching to go home, avenge defeat, and uphold their beliefs. I believe they (being very conservative to start, plus yearning for what they've lost) would make very few changes to a beloved original, other than to reflect that they are not in Germany, are in the sky, and have already lost once. The changes also reflect a touch more emphasis on the Nazi ideals of strength of "Will," purity (of purpose, in this case), and following a strong leader (also, attached is a shorter version, that is more to the point & may be more usable):

1
Es braust ein Ruf wie Donnerhall,?
wie Schwertgeklirr und Wogenprall:?
Zum Heim't, zum Heim't, zum deutschen Heim't,?
unser Wille ist Hüter d'Heim't!

R:

2
Durch Hunderttausend zuckt es schnell,
?und aller Augen blitzen hell;
?der Deutsche bieder fromm und stark,
beschützt die heil'ge Volkesmark.
3
Er blickt herab vom Himmelsau'n,?
mit Heldenväter niederschau'n,
?und schwört mit stolzer Kampfeslust:?
Du Heim't bleibst deutsch wie meine Brust!
4
Solang ein Tropfen Blut noch glüht,?
noch eine Faust den Degen zieht,?
und noch ein Arm die Büchse spannt,?
bleibst kein Feind dort auf deinen Land!
5
Und ob mein Herz im Tode bricht,?
bleibst du doch drum ein Welscher nicht.?
Reich, wie an Wasser ist Rheinflut,?
ist Deutschvolk ja an Heldenblut!
6
Unser Schwur erschall - Wille stark;?
7
In Gottvertrau'n greif' zu dem Schwert!?
So führe uns, du bist bewährt -?
Heil Führer! Verschütten das Blut!?
Und tilg' die Schmach mit Feindesblut
--------------
A call roars like a thunderbolt,?
like clashing swords and splashing waves:
?To the Homeland, to the Homeland, to the German Homeland,?
our "will" is guardian of the Homeland!

R:
Dear homeland, put your mind at rest,? dear fatherland, put your mind at rest,
?Firm stands, and true, our watch over the Homeland! Firm stands, and true, our "will" for the Homeland!

Through hundreds of thousands it quickly moves,
?and all eyes flash bright;
?Germans honest, pious and strong,?
protect the sacred place of the people.

He looks down from the meadows of heaven,?
with ancient heroes looking down,
?and swears with proud pugnacity:?
You, Homeland, remain German, like my heart!

And even if my heart breaks in death,?
You'll not ever remain "foreign" territory.?
As rich in water as is the Rhein's flood,?
is the German people in heroes' blood.

Our oath rings out - our "will" strong;?
the flag flies bright like a lark:?
To the Homeland, for the Homeland, being purity itself,
?all will be avenging guardians.

With trust in God, grab the sword!?
So lead us, you are approved -
?Hail Leader! Spill the blood!
?Erase the shame with foes' blood!

This text is nearly perfect. I have only slightly corrections concerning the verse measure and content. I would change the last 2 verses to:

Solang ein Tropfen Blut noch glüht,
noch eine Faust den >>Luger<< zieht,
>>solange Landser Jäger steuern,
werden wir den Schwur erneuern!<<

(as long as privates still fly fighters
we will renew the oath!)

Der Schwur erschallt, der Mond erglimmt
zur Fahne stolz im Sonnenwind:
Zum Rhein, zum Rhein, zum deutschen Rhein
Der Himmel wird voll Eisen sein.

Ja, genau!

I especially like his Phil R's refrain better.
Makes it feel as if the moon-base is temporary, and they are returning to 'free' the fatherland. A kind of feeling of grim hope.

And may I suggest y'all add a functioning variation of my 6th verse as an ending?

So führe uns, gen Erdgestirn;
Mit Götterdämmerung und Haunebu,
Hoch Wolfgang! Nieder mit der Brut!
Und tilg' die Schmach mit Feindesblut!
"

Phil R December 16, 2010 16:48 Flag

Nice!
But I think mothership and laser is too sci-fi. Ironsky feels more like mechanic evil machinery I think.

Carl L. suggested a hybrid between both our lyrics. I think it's a nice idea.

Carl Voluntaryist December 16, 2010 10:32 Flag

This one's great!
But I'd still replace the Laser with a Luger, because it would fit more with the established plotline.

The Watch Above

My attempt,

I do not speak German. But I think the song should be mainly redone as playing the same old Wach en Rhine is only going to draw so much patriotism. But a new version, along with hearing the same music will inspire many.

My English version essentially explains the fear of going to space, and the triumphant return that awaits.

The Watch Above

The rocket cries like thunder's peal,
Of roaring lions and clang of steel:
To Space, To Space, our new home,
To defend our future, whereever we roam.

Dear fatherland, no fear comes to our Master Race,
dear fatherland, no fear comes to our MAster race,
Firm and True stands the Watch, the Watch in space!
Firm and True stands the Watch, the Watch in space!

They stand, a hundred thousand strong,
Quick to avenge their country's wrong,
With filial love their bosoms swell
They shall guard the sacred future well!

He casts his eyes from the space's black,
To Earth, we press the attack!
And swears pugnaciously the oath,
You Germany and I, stay German, both.

While still remains one breath of life,
While still one fist can draw a knife,
One gun still fired with one hand,
No foe will remain on his German land.

Should my heart not survive as we land,
You'll will still be liberated from foreign hand,
Much, as your land and seas are without end,
Have we our heroes' blood to spend.

The order resounds, on radiowave,
The banners fly high, proud, and brave,
To Germany, Germany, a German's land!
We come to fight and make our last stand!

I made it ryhme in English, but don't intend for you to use it. I just would like to show what I think the content of should hold. More specifically, removing Rhine and inserting space along with general militaristic themes of war, salvation, glory in death and a triumphant return.

The Nazis were geniuses at utilizing and twisting past stories and media in their behalf, they even made a movie ab out Fredrick the Great using two whole divisions from the Russian Front, as they believed it was more important to show the comparison between Fredrick the gReat's situation and the current war with Russia.

I like your verses - especially concerning the content, and they rhyme very well in english, but - as some of the other proposals do in german - they will have difficulties to sing this along as the verse measure leads in some lines to speed up and down, which - as I fear - will kill the "hymn feeling"...

I assume the hymn will be used in the film in the german version, maybe subtitled for other languages, as it will loose much of it's power if they sing a translation.
Front 242 said somedays - "ein Sack Kartoffeln" sounds that much stronger for belgian ears than a "bag of potatoes".. so I hope they will do so...

In conclusion - what counts is the power the verses have in german, not that the content covers all of the film or sounds good in translation.
With this view my heart still beats for sebastians, the mashup or my version, because the feeling for native german speakers is the strongest - as elder words are used and the phrasing follows "hymn" - rules...

I could cry when I think of the ironsky verse... ("der himmel wird voll eisen sein..") and I hope I will hear it...

Die Macht kehrt heim... [the force returns home...]

(I must admit - I started this on Sebastians version - as he was/is my favorite - but I thought it makes sense to do an own shot, as it is easier to decide between shots, as to decide between shots and a hundred comments..)
Still not sure about the refrain..

Die Macht kehrt heim...

Wir brechen auf mit Donnerhall,
mit Antigrav durchs Weltenall
Zum Rhein, zum Rhein zum deutschen Rhein,
woll'n wir des Stromes Hüter sein!

Ref.:

stolzgeschwelgt - voll Feindeslust....

Der Menschheit Wohl sei die Gewissheit
dass Verblendung nicht weit zählt
des Deutschen Kraft zu Stolz in Wahrheit -
euch der Weg den ihr nun wählt...

----------------------------------------

[Translation]:
The dawn comes with thunderbolt
with antigrav through space...
to the Rhine, to the Rhine
We will be the rivers guardian...

Dear fatherland, put your mind at rest,
dear fatherland, put your mind at rest,
The goal is clear: the force - the force returns home!
The goal is clear: with force - with force back to the Rhine!

the eyes of mankind look up
our run is dedicated to the sake of our homeland
the german that took the moon
upraises with his starship

He looks down from the meadows of heaven,
where ancient heroes glance down,
and swears in proud bellicosity:
rhine - you will will stay german like my breast!

As long as a drop of blood still glows,
a fist still draws the Luger,
as long as privates stear fighters,
we will renew the oath !

The oath rings out, the moon glows up
to the flag - proudly - in the solar wind
To the Rhine, the Rhine - the German Rhine
The sky will be full of iron!

[Reprise]:
Heavens Iron - wars deposit
sorrow fraughts the fatherland
sure of the victory was our brest
proud - full of lust for the enemy

To mankinds sake be the certainty
that blindness won't count long
germans strength for Pride in Truth
shall be the way that you might choose.....

this is good, very easy to sing along with those rhymes. I think this is perhaps the best so far. And much of the contents of the story in it too, with a twist. Thumb up.
_____

The Mashup!

This combines (IMHO) all the best parts of all the suggestions so far.
Mainly based on Dirk Mengel's adaptation of Sebastian Keller's version, with some bits (maybe slightly modified) from Phil R & Gabriel Wolf. Did I forget anyone?

So führe uns, gen Erdgestirn
an Deiner Seite stehen wir firm.
Hoch Wolfgang! Nieder mit der Brut!
Und tilg' die Schmach mit Feindesblut!

To the Rhine, to the Rhine to the German Rhine
Want to free Germany and the World

It's been certain for a long time: the force returns home!

our run is dedicated to the sake of our homeland
the German that took the moon

So lead us towards the planetary body of Earth
we firmly stand at your side.
Cheers Wolfgang! Down with the spawn!
Settle the dishonor with the enemy's blood!

you are right, I think too they will use the parts that fit according to the situation in the movie...
let's see what will be used in the end, but all in all I am also really satisfied with this version (even I like the ironsky-verse the most...)

merry xmas to everyone....

Carl Voluntaryist December 24, 2010 01:25 Flag

Maybe they change the name for every new Führer, or they added the verse unofficially to please Mr. Höss.
(we did that kind of stuff back when I was in the military)

I adapted the 7th verse from http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Die_Wacht_am_Rhein#Liedtext and I think it rounds it off nicely.

It's a pretty long song to be featured in a movie, and I think they'll primarily focus on the '1st and 2nd stanza' (IAW task description).
They'll likely end it off on varying verses, provided they fit the relevant scene, and will probaply put 'Der Himmel wird voll Eisen sein!' into an especially dramatic scene.
We'll probably have to wait for the credits to roll at the end to hear it in its' entirety.

Dirk Mengel December 24, 2010 00:10 Flag

the hymn must end with "Der Himmel wird voll Eisen sein...." (the sky will be full of iron) - as it's the most powerfull verse - the most powerful sentence I can think of in german - and related to the title.

the new verse you added after the end is very close to NOW as it mentions Wolfgang - i fear it could make the hymn less timeless, but if an additional verse is needed I would place it before the verse with the ironsky - ending.

I agree with the changes that put a bit of rhine out of it, and the change of the view from up to down.

If Laibach will put this on the soundtrack cd - I hope they add a reprise (maybe they use even a bit of mine) - but I'm confident they will find the right words on their own.

..do you think you can make it - Deutschland...?

That's what I'm talking about! :D
Good job Phil! Thanks!

Phil R December 23, 2010 17:27 Flag

Good mashup, I really like it!

How about something like
"An Deiner Seite stehen wir firm"
for rhyme to "...Erdgestirn"?

EDIT: Okay, you've edited your post with your translation. Mine won't be needed anymore, so I deleted it.

Carl Voluntaryist December 23, 2010 17:07 Flag

EDIT: Added Translation

@Gabriel: It's half yours.
@Dirk: True, sorry about that. And true again on the last verse.

Though "So führe uns, gen Erdgestirn" just fits with the rhythm of the song. Rolls across like butter on a hot Brötchen.

There's not much that rhymes with 'Gestirn' (-except for maybe 'Hirn') but "bei Dir/mit Dir" is close enough that it should be fine when sung by a choir of Space-Nazis.
(Who can really hear the 'N' at the end of 'Erdgestirn'?)

Any suggestions would be welcome...

[Gabriel Wolf]

THNX for that, but it`s not from me! I wouldn`t write that because, i didn`t see the point with Rhein. They fly to New York not to Germany!

Can I ask this to be translated as well?

Dirk Mengel December 23, 2010 14:50 Flag

hey - there are even more phrases from my version in it ! ;)) - (no matter...)
Still not sure about the refrain. I don't like the beginning of the last verse that much - as it does not rhyme...

Seppo Hiltunen December 23, 2010 14:33 Flag

This is also such a song lyric that is easy to sing and has a nice adaptation to this movie theme. Thumb up.

Carl Voluntaryist December 23, 2010 13:35 Flag

For translation czech the other tasks.

Why do I like this setup?

Starts off with the wish to 'free' Germany & the world.

Refrain starts with homesickness, but then turns into readiness for battle.

They look down together with the heroes (mighty arrogant of them -placing themselves on a pedestal, neh?), and then swear with readiness to do battle to make the world german.

They're belligerent, and would be quite happy to 'fill the air with iron'

It ends with them asking Führer Wolfgang Höss to lead them to planet Earth, proclaiming their confidence ( *or maybe Loyalty* ) and then they yell 'Down with the spawn! Settle the dishonor with the enemy's blood!'

-Making this a nice play on, sort of, Orwellian doublespeak.

Or in classic Star Trek terms: 'We come in Peace! - Shoot to kill!'

Maybe something else ...

Consider this: the "Wacht am Rhein" calls out to guard the frontiers of the liberated Fatherland - especially the frontier against France that had brought them all to their knees under Napoleon.
The Moonazis have the liberating part still ahead of them. They're not guarding anything, they look at something they lost, and they want it back.
The musical "Cabaret" features "Tomorrow belongs to me", and it's a very powerful scene ...

However, it's bloody hard to get the lyrics in German.

There is another classic scene from the 1965 film "Battle of the Bulge" that conveys a similar powerful message through the Panzerlied:

The scene is awesome, but I think the I.S.-team is aiming for bublic domain (copyright free) material for the song, because "They'll be singing it all across the movie. ". The copyright fee is per second and multiplied by the potential audience.

"Tomorrow belongs to me" is still under copyright because the other maker of the song is still alive. And it last 70 years after his death.

Besides "Die Wacht am Rhein" has more that anthem feeling :)

Die Wacht im All / Des Mondes Hüter

[Staying true to the original, changed some minor stuff, exchanged Rhein alternately with 'Mond' and 'All'. I think you could probably get away with using the original. Would be funny, as how does a MooNazi know what a 'Flut' is, as the moon is certainly not 'reich an Wasser' :-D]

[1.]
Es braust ein Ruf wie Donnerhall,
wie Schwertgeklirr und Wogenprall:
Zum Mond, zum Mond, zum deutschen Mond!
Wer will des Mondes Hüter sein?

[Refrain]
Lieb Vaterland magst ruhig sein,
lieb Vaterland magst ruhig sein:
Fest steht und treu die Wacht,
die Wacht im All!
Fest steht und treu die Wacht,
die Wacht im All!
[im all -in space]

[2.]
Durch Hunderttausend zuckt es schnell,
und aller Augen blitzen hell;
der Deutsche, bieder, fromm und stark,
beschützt die heil'ge Landesmark.
[Refrain]

[3.]
Er blickt hinab von Himmelsau'n,
da Heldenväter heraufschau'n,
und schwört mit stolzer Kampfeslust:
Du Mond bleibst deutsch wie meine Brust!
[looking down from the moon, the heroes now look up]
[Refrain]

[4.]
betritt kein Feind hier deinen Strand! [not like they'd know what a beach is :-D]
[Refrain]

[Additional]
Und ob mein Herz im Tode bricht,
wirst du doch drum ein Welscher nicht.
Reich, wie an Wasser deine Flut,
ist Deutschland ja an Heldenblut!
[Refrain]

[5.]
Der Schwur erschallt, die Woge rinnt
die Fahnen flattern hoch im Wind:
Am Mond, am Mond, am deutschen Mond
wir alle seine Hüter sind.
[Refrain]

[6.]
So führe uns, gen Erdgestirn; [Lead us towards the Earth-heavenly body]
Mit Götterdämmerung und Haunebu, [Mothership & Fighter]
Hoch Wolfgang! Nieder mit der Brut! [That's Mr. Höss, the Führer]
Und tilg' die Schmach mit Feindesblut!

[Feel free to adapt this to better suit your purposes]
