This game suggests whole new meta of MMORPG.

It's probably a good game, just like the original Guild Wars. I think I'm done with MMO's though.

Loved playing the beta a little this weekend. Got a chance to try the siege warfare, which I'd really been looking forward to since I used to LOVE that in Dark Age of Camelot.

So far, I'm very impressed. Some great new mechanics, and a lot of the chore of MMO's seems to have been removed in favor of a more fun time. Would love to see voice chat in PvP though, I really wanted to get some more strategy going.

    Definitely glad I pre-ordered this.

@BrokenArrow88 - Try setting the video player to "auto" in the quality menu. Since this is a 5.5hr video, some browsers/internet connections have trouble buffering such a large amount of content.

@midnight_trashh Or you can preorder through amazon if you really wanna try the game out, beta test, then cancel your pre-order if you don't like the game. I did that with Tera Online. I got my money back the next day.

There seems to be a severe decrease in deductive skills as the years go on, hahaha. People are so easy to fool. Yet every time there's a new game, there are people who make absurd complaints, like they NEVER saw it coming. Hey, look the other way so whoever told you 'what to do' can step on the other side of your face.

Hmm, some people still don't get it the fact that the optimization process is not completed yet. So don't refer to those systems requirement on GW2 webpage just yet, they are pretty much invalid right now. Don't tell me about your hardwares and how the game runs horribly- because last weekend beta client was only meant to run on one CPU core and don't even use much of your GPU. Wait till they finish the optimizing work and finalized graphics, then we talk about hardwares performance and compatible problem.
I do however hope the wait won't be too long... Paying early or not is more to individual opinion. If you confident Anet is doing well, then why not? If you feels the other way, then wait for more review, after several more betas till things are more stable... June? Yeah I read in many places say June... On one side I hope I can play it a.s.a.p. But on the other side I hope Anet takes their time makes a good game... Sigh... this "stuck in the middle" problem...

I prefer Tera over GW2, simply because of the open world PvP for me

I wish the video would work as well as the commercial that precedes it

While not without a certain entertainment factor - the game ran unstable on my geforce 570. I hope thiy will be fixed until release.

For those who believe that this game is something like WoW 2 or some kind of clone, you can't be more wrong.

Yeah I agree. Seriously, Best to wait to see reviews of a game no matter how great they try and make it in their videos. I learned that the hard way from SWTOR, Age of Conan, and Tera Online to Never pre-purchase something you have never played. GW2 I think will be a great game... but still you never expect it to be what you assume from watching gameplay videos, or reading it's features. It's just common sense, but hey if you got the money and want to risk wasting it go right ahead it's your money not mine.

This new trend of companies making you pre-purchase or donate to play a beta is complete BS. I'm not that desperate to play that I have to pay.

    @wardhay
You did notice 483paul mentioned "beta", right?
While you should obviously pay to play a game (unless it's a free game, of course), a beta is supposed to be a test version. It makes no sense to pay to be a beta tester: it should be the other way around because you're working to find bugs and provide valuable feedback to the developers. Also, a true beta version is unstable and incomplete, so it's not like you'd have unadulterated fun.
The recent trend however, is game companies polishing their games, beta-testing internally and then releasing so-called "beta" versions that are quite close to release versions... so close, in fact, that they're pretty much early releases, hence your having to pay to get your hands on them.

You love the art-style? Um... it's just the character models sitting on some concept art... wow, I guess laziness passes for art-style nowadays.

Paul said you need to pre-purchase the game to get into this beta. Only those who pre-purchased the game were guaranteed a spot. Day 1 was just a lag fest and I felt bad that I had wasted 80 bucks to finally see how bad it was. They released a patch and it fixed many of the issues, so after learning the ropes finally got to level 20 before it ended. I don't feel bad anymore, it grew on me.

yeah games should totally not require purchasing to play
