For those of you who have never served, your opinions are utter BS. You don't know what the hell you're talking about. You're free to express your opinion, but you look like fools to us who know better.

For those of us who have served, we know the simple fact that we agree to serve under the terms of our enlistment. If we have second thoughts based on our personal politics, our service is no longer wanted.

The bottom line is that if the Marine Corps and the UCMJ are standing in the way of someone in the Marines who invokes their freedom of speech rights, then the Marines are obligated to assume his rights mean more to him than his willing service, and let him go under that condition. He could no longer serve as a Marine because he thought his right to speak as a civilian superseded his voluntary vow of honor, loyalty, fidelity and service. Rather than making him face a firing squad for willful insubordination, they discharged him according to the terms of his enlistment contract - which is to say he served with less than honor, loyalty and fidelity.

IF you civilians can't wrap your tiny, little minds around that, then try enlisting and serving the country that gives civilians their rights, putting your life, honor and duty on the line so morons like you can say whatever BS you want whenever you want, wherever you want.

So he gets to join your ranks in the interests of preserving his constitutional rights. Because he put politics ahead of his vow of service, loyalty and fidelity, he no longer deserves the privilege of being called a Marine.

Couldn't agree with you more!

That's why they call it MILITARY service, Because in the Military, YOU ARE NOT A CIVILIAN, and DO NOT have all the rights, freedoms and liberties so easily and ignorantly enjoyed, abused and taken for granted by Civilians.

This is another reason why, WE REAL Military People get so upset with the watering down of REAL core values, and the continuous attempts to turn the military into a SOCIAL Experiment, instead of its REAL purpose, A Fighting Force.

Correct. And another thing these numbskulls can't figure out: If you allow your military to speak out against President Obama, next time when it's the same thing against "President Romney," they would have to allow that, too. It has nothing to do with whether Obama or Romney is good or bad, it's not liberal or conservative, it's common sense. Your military cannot go around and criticize the commander, no matter who he is. If you do that, you totally destroy the military.
