- I'm not military, but even I understand what a ******* this guy is. If you want complete freedom of speech, then don't freely CHOOSE a profession that places understandable restrictions on that freedom. Need I add that we would hear nothing of this sort from a marine or anyone else if Obama were white? Isn't it obvious that most of the ferocious resentment directed at the president is racially motivated? Seriously, politics rarely generates this kind of emotion by itself, but race certainly does. The past three and a half years prove this country is still a racist, ignorant society. The Republicans employ so many racist code words you have to have a redneck dictionary to keep up with them--Michele Bachmann and her "tar baby" remark wasn't nearly as ludicrous as her pretense of innocence after the fact. Typical.

- Smitty you can get Sgt Steins address and physically be there to caress him because listening to you defend your ideal boyfriend is getting old fast for the rest of us.
- Picture Captain USSAmerikan in a trench leading Easy Company under fire in a combat situation. He gives the order to attack the enemy position and a couple of guys like Stein start discussing the merits of their situation citing their dislike with the commander in chief.
Democracy ends when you join the military to defend it. There can be no hesitation to defend it. remember your commander in chief was democratically elected.
but most right wingers dont want democracy anyway. They just want a country free from anyone who doesnt think like they do. - Reply to this comment
- Sgt. Stein took the same oath of enlistment I did .....
Oath of Enlistment
I, ____________, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God. - Reply to this comment

- I made that oath to be a Marine too, 5 years ago. Before I slammed the Bush administration I made damn sure I knew the rules and how far I could go with what. I was thankful not to be an officer back then.
I knew my **** as a Lance Corporal and this Sergeant is making us all look bad. What an *******. He is getting what he deserves because he is stupid.

- "I'm having a hard time seeing how 15 words on Facebook could have ruined my nine-year career."
I guess he also had a hard time understanding the UCMJ too. He has only himself to blame. - Reply to this comment
- The Marine does have freedom of speech, just no common sense.
In countries without this freedom, he could have faced a firing squad or years of hard labor in a prison.
Being separated from the USMC under those conditions for that kind of conduct is what he will also find in the civilian world.
No one removed his constitutional rights, just his entitlement to serve a job that was given to him. - Reply to this comment
- Stein was gigged on a technicality, driven, I presume, by a love for the Messiah-In-Chief and the fundamentalist rejection of any negative criticism that one usually elicits from his followers when anything less than wholehearted love and praise is expressed. While Stein's comments go against his oath of office, his statement on Facebook is somewhat akin to a water cooler comment and his punishment should have been a serious reprimand and maybe a drop in rank, to remind him of who's boss. That they ended his career because of his exercise of his first amendment is a travesty and Stein should fight it in the same arena leftist fundamentalists love so much to conduct their sniping, the court of public opinion!!!

- He was convicted by a court-martial consisting of military officers, dummy. Did the military officers love President Obama? Huh? You need to think about what you are saying. If this Marine was allowed to say things like this about this President, what happens if a Marine wants to say similar things about "President Romney"? For that matter, what would happen to you if you said such things about your own boss -- assuming for the sake of argument you actually have a job, since most jobs require at least some degree of intelligence.
- Obama is dispised by the military, they see him as weak and unsupportive... especially when those korans were burnt ( because the enemy was using them to pass messages) It cost us 7 American soldiers lives... and Obama apologizing to the enemy..... An article "15" would have been sufficient punishment for this Marine...he should not have been discharged and lose his benefits... but I am sure pressure from the White House ended his career

- Well maybe in the Air Force an article 15 would have been sufficient.Guess in the Air Force you can ignore warnings not to do something and just keep on doing it with no consequence.
- No, you can't. I'm a retired USAF JAG and we'd gladly prosecute this lamebrain if he made similar comments.
- He was fired for saying "screw Obama and I will not follow orders from him"?
Really, what's he problem here? If I was go post *exactly* that sentiment about my boss I would be out the door, and rightly so.
Sgt. Stein has spend too much time sucking at the teat of government and now this sorry a$$ excuse for a Marine can go about his business. He has been given the opportunity to get a job with a boss that is more to his liking and I hope the door hits the disloyal f*uck in the a$$ on the way out. - Reply to this comment
- OK, so a Marine sergeant who obviously has no rights (that according to the Pentagon) to criticize his Commander-in-Chief (even when he suspects some treasonous acts have already taking place) has been reprimanded (like a small child) by his superiors hey! Like for what? some derogatory Obama related comments he made on his own private face book page??? Hum,,, kinda sounds a tad bit ridiculous in a strange sort of way...
No wonder the news media's are so afraid of these power-mad monsters...If you report the truth that this president and most of Congress are nothing but liars and crooks... That one acknowledgement of truth can get you into some serious doo- doo!
This guy is a hero in my judgment book, who should be rewarded for telling us the truth about Lord Obama and most of Congress too, who truly are the real enemy's of """we the people here...""" - Reply to this comment
