Baldness Cure: Scientists Give a Hairless Mouse a Mohawk Using Stem Cells

According to a new study, Japanese scientists have found a possible cure for baldness using stem cells.

Researchers at the Tokyo University of Science successfully helped a hairless mouse grow a mohawk by regenerating hair follicles.

Scientists used follicles from a normal mouse to create a "seed" of a hair follicle,

They then implanted the newly created "seed" into the hairless mouse, and actual hair began to grow.

The report says the study demonstrates not only the potential for hair regeneration therapy and bioengineered organ replacement using adult somatic stem cells.

The baldness cure that worked on the hairless mice, however, has not yet been tested on humans, but the researchers hope to introduce the idea soon.
