COMMENTARY

The side by side comparison is a very interesting feature, but extremely user unfriendly. (By the way I would like it to compare not just 2, but at least up to 5, preferably 10 countries ;-)
It should just ask to fill in the 2 (or 5 or 10) countries, and then wait till you click a 'go' button.
In it's current form it is basically unworkable: I could (with difficulty) compare Belgian with France regarding Health, but when I then tried to instead compare France vs. Spain it didn't work out. Every time I selected one country at the bottom, the application immediately started to recalculate Belgium vs. that country, instead of waiting till I had selected the second country. I tried entering the country names in the left as well as in the right column, but it just doesn't work!

Yugoslavia isn't a country anymore. It's been divided in Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia & Hercegovina and Macedonia. Seriously, I've been to both Montenegro and Croatia so I know. Also, why are there states like Montserrat, Jersey and Puerto Rico.

Vladan is right: split 'Serbia & Montenegro' into 'Serbia' and 'Montenegro'. Also, why oh why is the Soviet Union here??!!

Mexico is not technically an independent nation. It depends on the United States to shelter its criminals and refugees. It also depends on the United States to provide benefits for its many runaways who go to the States in order to avoid work in Mexico. I am Mexican, and I am very ashamed of what the drug cartels have done to our nation. If our people were not cowards, we would stand up to these thugs who represent a small minority of our population. Our real problem is that we are lazy and have no pride.

I am a consultant in international cooperation registered in Canada.I am particularly working for the developent of Haiti,my birth country.
Let me tell you something, this site is more interesting than the ONU sites as long as you are searching informations about the countries in the world.
Right now, I am making a research regarding Haiti on a comparison basis in regard to other countries. The site NATION MASTER helps me out incredibly.
A lot of thanks!

If the total world debt in 2001 was $364.5 billion, (your figures?) if I have them right and the USA debt at the time was around 8 trillion, ..... Can it be true that the single nation's (USA) debt was nearly 22 times greater than that of the WHOLE WORLD ?

I cannot find any GDP data about the USSR. It must have ranked among the top 20 countries, so how is that possible?!?

Bartek
6th June 2009
I cannot find any GDP data for the USSR! They must have ranked somewhere in the top 20 and they simply don't even appear.
(And Russia starts only 1989, so it isn't filed here.)

How is that possible?

Parliament of Montenegro, following majority vote at the referendum, proclaimed at the end of May 2006 independent sate. In july Montenegro becomme the youngest memmber of UN. Since state "Union of Serbia and Montenegro" doesn't exist it would be good for you to update your site with the most recent date for two new states Serbi and Montenegro.
