Born in 1969, Dominique Rivoal studied BA in Visual and Performing Art (Dance) at Brighton University where she gained a first class degree, then received an MA in Digital Art at Middlessex University and is currently studying part time on the MA in Choreography.

Research Interests

Her interest lies in combining Visual Art and Dance and she have been choreographing for the camera and/or the stage as well as making films and visual backdrops as a freelancer for Dance companies such as Arc (UK), Mind the Gap (Germany), Disco Sister (Uk). She has made several self-funded dance films and an interactive CD-ROM called Spanish Omelette which she presented at a conference on Seeing and Writing in Porto in 2003.

Recent Work

More recently she has become a visual artist interested in the invisible, focusing towards a site specific dance performance inspire by Angels which includes specially made films and original music. Her intention is to experiment with new ways of interfacing dance with audience and to reconcile her Art with her Spirituality. [ Dancing With Angels ] Within the LCEA, my job as a technician includes archiving and teaching tutorial on video editing software and DVD authoring. I am also really keen to discuss projects with students who wish to work with the body, movements and films.
