Champagne brunch in Shinjuku

The Hyatt Regency Tokyo in Shinjuku is welcoming spring by offering a luxurious accommodation plan called Champagne Brunch and Stay, through June 30.

The plan offers a special brunch at the hotel's all-day Italian dining Caffe, which includes a glass of Champagne or fresh juice, fresh fruits, tournedos Rossini with eggs Benedict on the side and coffee. The brunch is available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The plan includes free parking and use of the hotel's pool and fitness facility, and guests can also enjoy special discounts at the hotel's bars and restaurants, the hotel's spa, Joule, and the Odakyu department store by Shinjuku Station.

The plan is available from ¥14,500 per person for double occupancy including tax and a service charge. A Tokyo accommodation tax up to ¥200 per person per night will be added.

The Hyatt Regency Tokyo is connected to Tochomae Station on the Toei Oedo Line, a 4-minute walk from Nishi-Shinjuku Station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line and a 9-minute walk from Shinjuku Station. For more information, call (03) 5321-8181.

Regional sake dinner event in Tokyo

Since last May, the international cuisine restaurant ekki Bar & Grill at the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi has been holding sake dinner events to support regional breweries. This year, the events focus on the four seasons.

This spring, on April 6, three sake brands (Masuizumi, Horaisen and Tengumai) from breweries in the Hokuriku and Chubu regions of Japan will gather to introduce their sake at the event along with their regional specialties.

Alongside the freshly made sake that can only be experienced this season, other popular sake brands will also be served at the event.

Admission is ¥10,000 per person including tax but subject to a service charge. The cocktail reception begins at 6:30 p.m. and dinner starts from 7 p.m.

Walk like an Egyptian in Osaka

Coinciding with the exhibition "Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs" to be held from March 17 to June 3 at the Osaka Tempozan Exhibition Gallery, the Swissotel Nankai Osaka in the Namba area is providing special offers, through June 3.

The hotel is creating two original cocktails related to the exhibition at its Italian restaurant and bar Tavola 36. Fukkatsu ("resurrection" in Japanese) is a nonalcoholic cocktail mixed with chai and milk, featuring an image of a pharaoh on the glass. It is available at ¥1,400. Hiho ("forbidden treasure") is a gin-based cocktail with amaretto and Drambuie (a Scotch whisky-based liqueur). It is available at ¥1,600. Guests can enjoy the drinks amid magnificent views of Osaka from the 36th floor, the highest of the hotel.

The prices include tax but are subject to a service charge.

Also, original nail art with Egyptian motifs and Egyptian massage plans at the hotel's spa, Purovel Spa & Sports, and special accommodation plans that include tickets to the exhibition are available.
