Web Developer

Seb Flippence

Web Developers are helping to transform the BBC for the digital age. They are part of a world-class team working on products as varied and high profile as BBC iPlayer, the BBC News and Sports sites and the BBC Homepage to name but a few.

Among many other tasks, Web Developers provide tools to solve problems. For example, if a journalist wants to insert an iPlayer clip into the News website, a Web Developer will design a widget to make this possible. The job could also involve using coding to implement designs for websites.

People in this role are passionate about IT and the internet. Being well-versed in HTML, CSS and relevant programming languages is essential as well as being able to work well in teams and under pressure.
