Less than 800 likes to go!! We're almost there... Sigma is almost felled to the might of our collective efforts, and Maverick Rising is almost upon us! We need to galvanize the peeps for one last push down the homestretch, and so our second & last preview mix - a groovy, gritty house/electronica MMX arrangement from bLiNd - seems completely appropriate. Jordan writes:
"This track was interesting. I did the remix originally because I was aiming for some prize money when Bahamut did the contest, haha. Jade and I were struggling financially, so I tried out. I got second place, so I was pretty happy about it! Only thing, I wasn't happy with how it turned out production/mix-wise, so I made some final improvements for the project. I took a pretty dark, gritty track and made something pretty housey out of it and it's got some fun basslines. Vile is too serious... he needs to galvanize."
Hmmmm.... too serious, needs to galvanize... so relevant ;) Really fun & funky mix from bLiNd; at first I thought it was going to be more of a wub affair, with a darker, dubsteppier orientation, but I'm glad things picked up & put a little more dance in the pants with an upbeat groove - works really well for the source. We almost take it for granted now when we see "bLiNd" next to a ReMix, but production quality, texture, impact, variety, dynamics, and all that other good stuff is spot on - as MR Director Wesley Cho writes:
"Jordan goes all out with this dark slower dance of a battle with Vile. It is full of tension that a bigger and badder plot is in the shadows waiting to get unleashed. The amount of work put into this is pretty clear, setting the stage for the future as well as giving us a fun song to bounce around to - Jordan is truly a master at his craft."
Ditto that, and not much else to say - more greatness from bLiNd, an excellent companion to Dr. Manhattan's other amazing preview mix, and another compelling reason to get excited & chip in for the 27,000 Facebook likes milestone & subsequent release of the full, delicious enchilada!

PS: I got my brother absolutely hooked on OCR recently. I can hear halc's "The Forest that Never Sleeps" blaring from his room. Mission accomplished :)
