I'm now over half way through. I'm playing on hard and I have to say, NG3 is not an easy game. I've already come across a few parts that really put my skills to the test.

All the reviewers saying it's an easy game must be playing on normal. NG3 might be too easy on normal but no self-respecting video game enthusiast plays games on normal. I can understand they probably have to lower the difficulty so they can get through it quicker and get the review up. But for everyone else, especially fans of Ninja Gaiden, give this game a try and play it on hard. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I'm enjoying NG3 a lot. I'm not done with the game but as it stands I think 5.5 is too low. It isn't the best game in the series and there is something a little off with the combat, but it's still a very good game. It might even be a great game. I'll decide once I've finished it.

I've played every Ninja Gaiden game that had come out on every platform since the days of the NES. Back in the day, Ninja Gaiden on NES was more enjoyable than any other action game that ever came out on that console.

When the game was reinvented by Tomonobu Itagaki, it had a depth unlike any other in its genre. He took the spirit of what was great in the old games and created a masterpiece. With Ninja Gaiden Black, he essentially took the same game and added all of the improvements that had originally come with downloaded content and released his "Director's Cut" version of the game.

The Sigma versions added new boss battles and playable characters. Ninja Gaiden 2 added a new adventure. I loved playing Ninja Gaiden games.

Now that Tomonobu Itagaki is gone, Tecmo has decided to avoid putting any real effort into the game. I didn't know what to expect with this sequel. Now, it seems that I shouldn't have been expecting much at all.

Tecmo, you suck! Do us all a favor and give Itagaki the franchise. At lease that way, there will be someone who can make a Ninja Gaiden game that is worth playing.

I will not be buying this game.

if the game's too easy, why not turn up the difficulty? i'm sure that the harder difficulties are at least somewhat equal to the normal ones on the older gaidens...

WTF IS THIS SH*T!! Whoever was the lead designer of this abomination needs to get cut in half. This game was for hardcore audiences. If this was a marketing plow to get more sales, they've just royally f"cked themselves. Unbelievable......

Yeah, its sad. I miss the old days when games were more appreciated. If the legendary super mario game would come out ttoday, Gamespot would slaughter it for being "repetitive". I got this game for like 20 bucks, and I enjoyed it as a game, but not as a Ninja Gaiden game. Almost the same with Twilight Princess for those who were fans of the old n64 ones. A disappointment, but enjoyable game. NG 3 wasnt disappointing but too easy, and some of the story elements were just lazy. But a good game. Id give it a 7.
