EA Sports unveiled the first Madden NFL 13 screenshot showcasing new Nike uniforms. The EA Sports development team was granted early access to the new designs of the NFL uniforms and used this insight to meticulously recreate the Nike clothing in Madden NFL 13. Nike signed a five-year exclusive deal with the NFL, which brings Reebok's reign as official clothing manufacturer to an end in real life and in videogames.

Now that March Madness is over with Kentucky bringing home the national championship, the sports world turns its attention to college football. EA Sports is readying NCAA Football 13 for a July 10 release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. EA Sports Tiburon is working on a brand new visual and audio presentation for the new gridiron game.

With the Stanley Cup Playoffs just around the corner, Electronic Arts is adding yet another fan voted cover athlete to its roster of games. Following in the footsteps of NCAA Football and Madden NFL, NHL 13 will feature a cover athlete voted by gamers. The EA Sports NHL Cover Vote Campaign – sponsored by BlackBerry and hosted on NHL.com, kicks off today. The voting process will consist of two preliminary rounds, followed by a 16-player bracket as a field of 60 NHL players is narrowed down to one. The winning player will be unveiled as the NHL 13 Cover Athlete at the 2012 NHL Awards on June 20 at the Wynn Las Vegas in Las Vegas. Every year, EA Sports always runs the risk of getting a little long in the tooth with its sports franchises.  Madden NFL 12 was kind of an example of this, despite the game’s huge sales numbers.  But I will get credit where credit is due, they always seem to add the right kind of content, even if some of it doesn’t “stick” like originally intended.  This can be said for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13, the latest in its golf franchise, which brings back one of the bigger features from last year – the Masters tournament – along with several new ingredients to keep momentum from shifting.  And for the most part, it’s a good thing.

Electronic Arts is being rewarded for sticking with Tiger Woods through thick and thin. In a perfect stroke of marketing, Woods won his first PGA TOUR event since his public divorce just before EA Sports was shipping Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 and Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13:The Masters Collector’s Edition to retailers around the world. His victory at Bay Hill has made Tiger relevant once again in the golf world and helped ratings surge for broadcasters. Fans of soccer, soccer video games, and FIFA especially should be excited for FIFA Street. Excited not just for the game, but for the page turned by its parent franchise—the exaggerated style of past iterations has been put on the shelf in favor of sober depiction, though that isn't where the game pans out as a great sports experience.

ORLANDO -- The will he, won't he drama surrounding Dwight Howard has ended, at least for this year, with Howard terminating his opt-out clause in his contract and remaining with the Orlando Magic for another year. When asked what Howard would do now that everything is over at his press conference today, Dwight Howard replied "I'm going to go home and play video games. That's what I'm going to do" Howard is known as a hard-core video gamer and even boasted to us at the recent NBA All-Star Game that he can beat anybody in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 as seen below in our interview with Howard.
