A Look Back at the Videogame Reviews of January

Our take on the new releases in January
January Review Round Up - Soul Calibur V

Consoles and PC's have had a slow month interms of new AAA quality games arriving for your respected platform. While January got off to a slow start, it quickly recovered to bring us high quality tittles through digital distribution. Plenty of great downloadable arcade tittles were made available through XBLA, PSN and Steam, giving us many hidden gems on the digital marketplace. Let's look back at the games we reviewed over the past month.

NFL Blitz Review (XBLA, PSN) -- Monster Sack

NFL Blitzs

Blitz gives you plenty to do.The game features online matchups, including co-op support for you and teammates, and also tracks your stats through leaderboards, so you can see how you're doing against others.  The Elite League lets you live out a brief (yet enjoyable) career mode, where you can unlock collectible cards (ala Madden Ultimate Team, but more Blitz-y) and other unlockable codes.  (Love the classic code entry system, once again made up of emblems.)  And in Blitz Gauntlet, you can take on teams and eventually face boss teams, made up of fantasy players, such as zombies.  Beat them and they're added to your collection.  Can a zombie Mark Sanchez do better than the real one?  I'm guessing yes.
