    Looks very clunky, and not the sort of game you'd want to play on a portable in this day and age. I'd of preferred a 2D perspective Kid Icarus, with 3DS graphics (akin to NSMB), instead.

    like a chore
    this game is a 7

    i mean why would you down thumb me
    for telling you the truth?
    nintendo isnt paying me off
    and im not saying the game is "horrible" or "bad"
    and its not "so-so"
    its just a little below "great"
    an a little above "good"

    somewhere around 7.5

    thats not even that far from the score they give here

    Wouldnt that destroy the whole purpose? While were at it why not just let Nintendo,sony and Microsoft just throw away their hardworked games to their competitors consoles!

    @WolfGrey

    No disrespect but you obviously are missing 3 points that your ignoring.

    1.The 3DS upgraded the friend code system from the horrible adding codes on every game on Wii, to just adding a persons code once to play everything on the 3DS, which is pretty much equivalent to the 360/PS3 of requesting someone.

    2. Nintendo's gotten better on online Multiplayer and adds them to games that could benefit and not to ruin single player games, Mario Kart 7's communities are a huge improvement and Uprisings multiplayer balances awesomly. As for the online service, Eshop is MUCH better than Wii and DSi and its gonna get better on Wii U. nintendo stated that they dont want to be the best cause they dont want to flood it with things that arnt nessesary for a gaming handheld/console.

    3. Your totally right, Uprising is just a rehash and the new IPs pushmo and Rolling western and the rebirth of Sakura Samurai that came out were SOOO NOT new IP's, and just rehashes./sarcasm/ Dont say the usual crap, its boring.

    something this awesome should be shared for the PSMove and Kinect. And while nintendo is converting this for the 2 current gen consoles... smash mouth's version of "why cant we be friends" should play in the background...(its an awesome song if you havnt heard it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dx0Shn5Hvpc&ob;=av2e)

    Are we honestly still complaining about friend codes? What do you have to do on other systems? If you don't have direct access to to another person's profile within a match or something, you need to type their name in to find them. How is typing a name different than typing a code? It isn't. It's still a set of characters and about the same size.

    I also think it's funny that you're coming to the Kid Icarus review to bring up reuse of IPs. Granted Kid Icarus isn't a new IP, but there hasn't been a game in the series in over twenty years and this entry plays absolutely nothing like the previous games. Not the best example of Nintendo milking a series.

    @WolfGrey

    I concede on the point of the online,Nintendo has been behind with that,and hopefully they get the ball rolling with the Wii U as they say they will.

    But jut because this is the best looking 3DS game to date does not make it the best looking 3DS game of all time. It's frequently the case that as time goes on and developers get better at making games for hardware that later in the system's life is when you see it's full potential. Plus game footage rarely if ever looks as good on the internet as on the console,especially for handhelds,because you're inflating the size of the pixels from the small handheld screen to the big PC screen,so the resolution looks fuzzy.

    At any rate,the game is fun,the system is fun,there are lots of other fun games on the system,and fun,not graphics,is what makes a game worth playing.

    Maybe that reviewer couldn't play without the stand,but this guy didn't seem to have a problem without it.

    And if the point was to prove that a deep big game could be put on 3DS,I think Nintendo made the right choice here. This game is very big and deep,with lots of gameplay,loads of customizable options,and pretty graphics. And who knows,with Pit back in the spotlight,perhaps we will see a Wii U Kid Icarus title.

    @WolfGrey

    I'm sorry dude, but your comments are coming across as being very biased against the 3DS or something. You realize this, right?

    I own a PSP and nothing on it comes close to the visuals of either the 3DS or the PS Vita. Nothing. Please, tell me what PSP game I should pull out of my collection to confirm what you're talking about.

    Why are you attcking the 3DS hardware in a game reveiw anyway? I don't feel that the 3DS hardware is as underpowered as you're making it out to be. Minus the OLED screen that the PS Vita has (which makes Wipeout look very nice), both devices deliver excellent graphics. The Vita will eventually get games with Anime styled graphics just like Kid Icarus. I wonder what you'll be saying then? Will you be calling the Vita underpowered too?

    You know, when people used to say the DS had a touch screen, Sony fans said "GIMMICK!" Today, the Vita has a touch screen.

    When people said the Wii had motion controls, Sony fans said "GIMMICK!" Today, the PS3 has Move.

    When people say the 3DS can do real 3D with no glasses, Sony fans once again say "GIMMICK!"

    You see where I am going with this, bud?

    Nintendo is very much on par with everyone. It's Nintendo that's setting all the standards. They have the entire gaming industry watching, learning and evolving from everything they do.

    I really don't see how you can come here and try to down-play that. Seriously.

    @hotdiddykong

    Yes so when people had to deal with friend codes when they came out rather than any actual online system, you should just say its ok... No offense but it was a terrible idea.

    Asking Nintendo to actually be on par with the times isn't much to ask.Most competitors in business keep themselves up to date in order to work with the times.Atm Nintendo relys on its gimmicks and casual audience to see it through. Maybe you didn't notice that i used to be a fan of nintendo.Probably should of noted that.

    Its fine that graphics aren't everything, hell i still play old classics.But when you the options there,you have the money, you have the ability, shouldn't a game company at least strive to update their hardware? Attempt to bring more out of what they have? To make their unusual IPs and gaming more attractive than before?

    To simply settle for less every time to save money and then be behind simple tech like a functioning online system just doesn't look good.

    All i ask of Nintendo is to take advantage of what they have and make it better. Im tired of reused IPs to make money they know they will. Its been a long time since i have seen a good new IP from Nintendo. They rely on their classics and nothing else.

    Hey buddy listen, its obvious where your coming from, but understand that graphics and tech dont make anything, yes they do have to look great and not crap but to the point where thats the only things you should complain about.

    Now you can either keep whinning over Tech this blah blah Graphics blah blah, or you can just stop stop whinning and just go play your favorite games that make you have fun, and most of us are, like Uprising.

    I agree about Metroid Prime.Beautiful game, still love listening to its themes. As for PSP success, it was very successful.Sure not NDS level but honestly the psp overall was a better handheld. Though ill admit that blasted analog(with its nasty little movement plate) was a huge bother.

    @Micropixel

    Aye i have seen Re:Revelations .Its not bad but still it only hits a decent graphics level.Nothing more. Some psp games still look better than it.And most Vita games certainly completely knock it out of park visually.

    Though Nintendo has never been about graphics or tech, i would honestly like to see them be on par with others for a change. Even the Wii U will be outdated shortly within a 1-2 year span.Other than Nintendo exclusives(which are typically rehashes or slightly different games of the same ol IPs) there is no reason to invest in Nintendo most of the time.At least for me, there are much better investments elsewhere.

    There was time i loved Nintendo(NES,SNES,Gamecube) but for now, they just aren't much to look at.

    @WolfGrey: Games can look good but be inferior technically. I still think, for instance, that Metroid Prime looks better than about 99% of games out there... including its sequel on the Wii, actually. Nintendo has always lagged on the technological side of things, that's inevitably true, but that only makes them work harder on making the rest work in their favor. The DS didn't even have an analogue stick and it kicked the PSP's behind many times over (IMO).

    @WolfGrey

    Go look at RE Revelations and you will see that Kid Icarus is NOT the best looking 3DS game by a long shot. In fact, there's no way RE Revelations could even run on the PSP.

    You can't judge the system's hardware off of one game.

    Kid Icarus is visually "Artistic", I'll give it that. But a I wouldn't call it the system's best looking game. The 3DS can do better than this... and it already has.
