Bellarmine currently offers its students one of the most extensive
international study options in the nation. Students can select programs
from more than 150 partnership sites in over 50 countries on 6
continents. More than 35% of Bellarmine's full time students engage in
an international experience during their tenure at Bellarmine. Study
abroad is available in all of Bellarmine's schools and majors, and it is
accessible to all students, regardless of economic background. Some
destinations are available with considerable scholarship support.
Likewise, Bellarmine brings the world to Louisville and the
Bluegrass State through its international exchange students as well as
its degree-seeking international students. We warmly welcome all of our
international students and treasure the diversity, unique perspectives,
and rich cultures which these students share with all of us. Bellarmine
works hard to make sure international students achieve not only their
educational goals, but also feel at home here in Louisville through peer
and faculty mentorship programs. Check out comments from previous
international students on their Bellarmine experience right here. With the 2008 SACS/QEP designation, Bellarmine has made
the internationalization of the university an institutional priority.
This internationalization is led by the IPO and encompasses the
integration of international experiences into the curriculum via the
"Assess - Match - Motivate" model, as well as via study, service,
internships and work abroad. All study abroad programs are available to any student who has attended Bellarmine for at least two semesters, maintained a minimum GPA (program specific), and is in good social standing. International Programs Office (IPO)
