Top Five Skyrim Mods of the Week - March 24

Shaun McInnis
By: Shaun McInnis, Editor

On this week's show we rain down cheese from the heavens, travel to the Khajiit home world, and show off an absolutely gorgeous graphics mod.

If you were one of those folks clamoring for more quest mods, you're in luck: this week's show has a couple spectacular user-made quests. One of them even has talking tigers! After that, we show off a gorgeous graphics mod, and somehow manage to recruit a small girl as our follower. That's not weird, is it? Yeah, that's probably weird.

    Another suggestion for the Exploding Chickens saga: place 20 of them on the balcony of a certain bride and groom, run to the archer's balcony, and then shoot the chickens with an arrow as the bride speaks to the guests - PRICELESS!

    Lol that explosive cheese one is really funny. This episode was the best so far with the more serious mods and funnier jokes.

    Super ENB added so much eye candy for me, together with 2K Texture Mod.. It requires some decent enough hardware though.

    Downloaded the ENB mod and now my Skyrim is broken beyond belief. Uninstalled the mod and reinstalled the game multiple times as well as cleared my save data and it's still broken.

    You guys should use the same "Top 5" video format as they do at CNet. Its entertaining and to the point. It also is much more consistent.

    You are a fool, you obviously don't read Bethesda's blog posts or are an active part of the Skyrim community. You sound like an entitled brat clinging to a toy he's had for years but never plays with, but doesn't want to give it away.

    Protip:Bethesda is actively looking for ways to bring mods to console players.Maybe its too late for Skyrim, but its a definite possibility for the next Fallout, and a near certainty for whatever comes after, with the next-gen consoles. They could easily create a "Bethesda Marketplace" similar to the Rock Band marketplace place where you buy and/or download individual dlc packs or mods. It'd be the console equivalent of the Steam Workshop, and is very do-able with some development time.

    @guiplc
    NO you don't. Modding is not possible for consoles as they do not give you access to the files in fear of piracy. Modding is freeform filesharing in one of it's better essence, where instead of waiting for a product to be delivered to you, instead you can take an active part in contributing to make a better game for everyone.

    Consoles do not support that aspect, and besides, by this time they are considered fossils and all these ENB mods will not be possible without a major performance impact.

    Posted Mar 25, 2012 12:09 am GMT

    @Banjo2E:
    They can't make it for the ps3 as dlc as it would cost alot of money to do so mods never work like that since mods can ONLY be used on the pc

    There are so many great mods. Any Mages out there should check out Wizards of Winterhold mod by Giskard. The quality and sheer amount of free content for Skyrim at this point is fantastic.

    @ShaunMc
    You guys ought to have a look at some of the dungeon pack mods available now too, there are a few that are better quality than the vanilla game, and add hours of dungeon crawls to the game.
