DEPOSIT All applicants have to pay a deposit of 280€. More information about the deposit in menu Expenses. ACCOMMODATION Saxion provides accommodation for all international students in both the cities of Deventer and Enschede. In these cities Saxion has contracts with the local student housing associations. These associations provide Saxion with unfurnished rooms for a certain period. Saxion is responsible for the furniture and maintenance of all these rooms. The facility department of Saxion organizes all these housing facilities. In both cities they have their own housekeepers who visit the houses and have contact with students concerning small repairs, requests and complaints. Students are free to find accommodation by themselves or with the help of International Office, but they cannot guarantee that housing accommodation is available for the time you require this. You need to apply for the accommodation at least 3 months before arrival in order to be certain of a room. In advance you agree with International Office the period for which you need the room in; during your stay it is not possible to end the agreed period before the expiry date. This is because they need to book this room well in advance for a minimum period, so if you end your contract after one month, the room will be empty and the university cannot take the financial consequences of this. SCHOLARSHIPS AND LOANS From 1 September 2007 EU/EEA students can apply for a loan to pay their tuition fees. This loan is known as `loan tuition fees’ and is paid monthly. You repay the sum you borrowed after your studies. You may also be eligible for a student grant in the form of a performance grant, a loan and an OV-studentenkaart.
