Liden & Denz

Learn Russian in Russia!!! Image
Location: St.Petersburg & Moscow
Website: http://www.lidenz.ru/

Liden & Denz is a Swiss owned organisation, founded in 1992 in St.Petersburg. The centres are the only internationally accredited language providers for Russian in Russia and well known in the international language travel market. Both centres are members of IALC (International Association of Language Centres ) and St.Petersburg has been recently accepted as a full member of EAQUALS (European Association for Quality Language Services ). Both accreditations were the result of thorough and successful on-site inspections.

Liden & Denz in St.Petersburg and Moscow are both official preparation and testing centres for the state exam TRKI (Test of Russian as a Foreign Language). A full breakdown of their accreditations and affiliations and their meanings you can find here.
These centres have been teaching Russian to students from practically all over the world - in 2007, they had students of 42 nationalities.

The St.Petersburg centre is situated in the historical city centre, close to the well-known Nevsky Prospekt and about 300 metres away from the nearest metro station (Ligovsky Prospect) in a central yet quiet neighbourhood. The school occupies the top floor (4th floor, no elevator) of a 19th century building. Facilities include a self-access centre (library, DVDs, CD-ROM course material etc.), a cafeteria offering cold and hot food, internet workstations (free or charge) and a wireless zone for notebook users (free of charge). The school further operates a booking desk for excursions, theatre tickets and onward travel.

The Liden & Denz Language Centre Moscow is located in the central part of the city, a short walk from the Belorusskaya Railway Station, a terminus for trains from Berlin and Warsaw. Our premises are on the ground floor of a building that belongs to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Most of the office space is used by foreign diplomats and accredited correspondents of the international press. The closest metro station (Belorusskaya) can be reached on foot in less than five minutes. The school features ten classrooms and is equipped with the latest technology (several workstations with wireless Internet for students, LCD TV and DVD sets in most classrooms).

Both centres have identical course types, dates and prices (however, accommodation rates differ).
For the language courses in offer, please see our programmes page for Language courses.

ACCOMMODATION
The choice of the right type of accommodation is an important decision as students typically spend more time at home than in the classroom. People have differing needs and interests and for this reason Liden & Denz offer several accommodation options enabling each student to choose the most appropriate type. You can choose between Homestay; Shared flat; 3-/ 4-/ 5- star hotels. More information is here.

Minimum language level
The student’s level of Russian needs to be at least at a good Elementary level - Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.. Applicant’s level will be evaluated during telephone or Skype conversation with a Liden & Denz representative.

Visa requirements

Excepting the citizens of some CIS countries, any non-Russian national wishing to enter the Russian Federation must bear a valid Russian visa. A student visa is required for participation in the work experience programme. Liden & Denz will provide applicants with a necessary letter of invitation.
