Funcom have an enormous amount of ground to make up after AO.... forget AoC, that was just an insult to the intelligence of a 6 year old, but I dont begrudge any company trying to milk an established IPO like Conan. Its AO they have to answer for because that was their game from go to woah. So I wont be pre-ordering because I no longer trust them, but the game looks ok. But so did AO

This looks better than ToR to me. The ability to mix skills is forward thinking. AoC was a great looking game, so I imagine this one will too. The crafting looks nice too. This is as close to a Shadow run game yet.
Count me in. I think these guys did their homework. I only hope that they do NOT carry over AoC's instanced servers for LFG, that was poorly designed back when it launched.

No classes, you take any skills you want (14 total allowed), and anyone can switch at will between load outs. While I appreciate the idea, how the hell do you balance the encounters for that? I don't envy the team in that regard.
Looks weird seeing modern day characters fighting fantasy enemies.
Didn't like the way the hammer blows the dev spoke of didn't connect by several feet, so blood splashes from mid air. Hope they don't release with sloppy hit detection like that.

@dutchgamer.. TSW is indeed finished. Public anouncement from FunCom of today say that Public Beta is on the move and that this will all be available for people at PAX East. Guess we could take a closer look on the game then.

I don't think this game will get more than an 8. It's on the exact same trajectory as Dante's Inferno: they spend so much effort on PR, how good can the game actually be?

it's a shame that they wasted such a good concept on an MMO.

@oflow i totally agree. I love the idea's Funcom has, but they always seem so sloppy when they release a game. So many bugs time over time. Unforgiveable bugs. I really wanna love The Secret world though.

    Positive things:
    - Modern setting instead of the high fantasy setting for once
    - Some really great ideas like the skill system and the puzzle elements
    - The real world getting invaded by demons (huge fan of Hellgate london the books and this seems to be better then the terrible Hellgate game).

But there are some negative parts that probally prevent me from buying it:

    - The combat system. You make such a great setting and then you give us the same crappy semi turned based combat system WoW and other MMO's use. And that is just a huge miss when you add guns as weapons
    - The combat doesn't seem to have much impact in the movies. Hammers just fly trough a enemy or simply miss by meters and still count as damage. I don't see any impact as you see it in SWToR for example. And in 2012 there is no excuse for such feeling when other MMORPG's before and SP RPG's have that feel.

I know the game is not finished yet, but FC has a lot to proof after Age of Conan where many promises wheren't hold or given in a another form as they made us believe. They got great idea's but yeah..will have to see if they can make it really happen. I hope they succeed.

MxO had a freeform skill system that I think was one of the better skills systems ever made in an MMO. Only problem here is I dont trust Funcom.

The standards of the average gamer seems to have gone through the roof. I'll take this over WoW any day.

Guys guys.. Whoooaaa, take a break. This game is a fresh breath to the MMO genre. This MMO could actually be fun, with the whole deck and skill business. They hit the nail on the head as fare as I am concerned, when they toss that sameold sameold high fantasy stuff out of the window. Why use a robe just because you are a mage user.. I am definitely buying this pre Order unless they screw something up with PvP (yet to be released).

Game sounds like it has potential, but combat looks lack luster and clunky.
