Seeing this game from the outset I know what you are thinking, an underwater Gears of War that is “reloaded” with features that you have already seen before. You would happily be mistaken as “Deep Black Reloaded” has successfully found its way to develop its own nitch off the developmental work that the team at Biart did.

With so many shooters that came out last year, it was hard for gamers to get their hands on them all without putting a decent dent in their wallet. Beyond the heated rivalry between the Battlefield and Call of Duty franchises, 2011 hosted other shooters such as the long-awaited Crysis 2 and THQ's Homefront. That year has passes, but one game has a neat trick up its sleeve to keep itself relevant in 2012, and that game is Killzone 3.

Once again, Naughty Dog has done a little more digging in the vault to bring forth some oldies but goodies in terms of multiplayer maps for Uncharted 3. Tomorrow will see the release of 4 of your favorite maps from Uncharted 2 to add a little bit of variety to all of your multiplayer needs. Naughty Dog released a trailer for the upcoming maps, as well as hint at a brand new game mode coming soon.

Last week marks the week of numerous boxes of chocolate being consumed, roses being delivered, and all of that lovey dovey stuff thanks to a little day called Valentine's Day. Surely, plenty of people are probably still feeling a bit hyper thanks to all of that sugar their loved one gave them as a gift. There could be no better timing for a new DLC map for Modern Warfare 3, giving people a chance to expend all of that excess energy learning a brand new map and making an example of other players.

Seeing as how I’ve got a stack of PS Vita games to review here, along with the unit itself, I decided to start on the simplest level possible – with a series I’ve become comfortable with.  Super Stardust HD was a brilliant addition to the PlayStation 3 line-up a few years ago, and the Portable version for PSP wasn’t half bad either.  So, since I’ve gotten used to Housemarque’s take on the traditional twin stick shooter, I decided to start my Vita voyage (heh) with Super Stardust Delta.  And wouldn’t you know it, it grew on me like a fungus.

Sega’s House of the Dead games weren’t out to change the world by any means.  The company merely put them together to give arcade goers the chance to blow off dozens of zombie heads without feeling remorse or worrying about how the world would end up after we cleaned house.  You know, none of that Walking Dead crap.  Now, ten years after making its debut in arcades (and sometime later on Xbox and Nintendo Wii), The House of the Dead III has come to PlayStation Network, complete with Move support, some slightly updated graphics, and a few other features.  Is it still worth it?  Absolutely, if you don’t mind the carnage.

Wow, it’s amazing how just now the folks at Cave have become a household name when it comes to quality games.  This development team has been around for years, crafting the kind of “bullet hell” shooters that fans simply can’t get enough of.  Oh, well, take whatever fame you can get, I always say.  And that level of fame continues with yet another release from its extensive shoot-em-up – or “shmup” – collection with Dodonpachi Blissful Death, which acts as a prequel to the previously released Dodonpachi Resurrection.

I love how the App Store is picking up in quality games.  Unfortunately, with that comes an escalated price.  Take SoulCalibur, for instance.  A decent port, sure, but it’s missing a lot of the stuff that made the Dreamcast original so grand, and it’s going for…$17?  C’mon, the Xbox Live Arcade version is only $10.  That said, there are some games that do validate their worth.  And one of them, believe it or not, is Taito’s Dariusburst SP.

Over the years, Activision has turned to Hollywood actors to add another dimension to the on-screen action in the Modern Warfare campaigns. In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Lance Henriksen (Aliens), Barry Pepper (True Grit) and Will Arnett (“Up All Night”) were among the recognizable names who contributed to the game. With Modern Warfare 3’s record haul as the biggest game of 2011, one reason the game continues to succeed is because of the acting and storytelling.

Consoles and PC's have had a slow month interms of new AAA quality games arriving for your respected platform. While January got off to a slow start, it quickly recovered to bring us high quality tittles through digital distribution. Plenty of great downloadable arcade tittles were made available through XBLA, PSN and Steam, giving us many hidden gems on the digital marketplace. Let's look back at the games we reviewed over the past month.

Every Tuesday, Sony brings its PlayStation faithful new content, add-ons for your favorite games, Themes and avatars for your PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable. Again another standard week of PSN goods you can get, but for the most part the main draw are going to be demos. Twisted Metal is finally going to hit store shelves and the fans of  the series will be eager to get their hands on the multiplayer demo now available.

Kim Dotcom, the founder and mastermind of the beleaguered file-sharing site Megaupload that was recently shut down by authorities, doesn't just face prison time and substantial fines for his alleged crimes, he has also lost his status as the world’s highest ranked player in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. With millions in the bank and a huge mansion from his illegal file sharing empire, Dotcom apparently had a lot of time on his hands and was playing a lot of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 under the gamertag MEGARACER. Dotcom had earned the top spot in the first-person shooter video game late last year, according to MSNBC. With around 15 million players worldwide and over $1 billion in sales, Modern Warfare 3 is one of the best selling video games of all time.

Another week is upon us and another batch of new content has arrived on Xbox Live. If you were a fan of Rockstar's L.A Noire. Then you will happy to see that all the DLC for the game is at a low price. If you were holding out on getting the DLC for the game then now is your chance. As personal recomendation, I would get the Nicholson Electroplating case and skip out on Reefer Madness.
