Electronic Arts has topped JP Morgan & Goldman Sachs (somehow) and even nudged past last year’s much hated and mega polluter British Petroleum, to earn the title of being the most “disliked” Company in existence. Wow! You have to work hard to fail like that!
These two things—video games and the romantic occasion of Valentine’s Day—may not seem to be the best combination, but Valve Software, the developer of Team Fortress 2, attempted to infuse some romance into their best-selling title. On February 14 of this year, Valve Software introduced a new addition to the sequel of Team Fortress: a special in-game engagement ring. Oh thats so sweet!
Uncharted 3, which was released late last year and developed by Naughty Dog, is set to have a new game mode this March 2012. Naughty Dog has called this new game mode as “fiery,” and is bound to excite the fans of the series. When the developer has announced this last month, the company has immediately made a downloadable content addition to the title.
Journey, the adventure title from SCEA and ThatGameCompany, is officially the fastest-selling game of all time on the PlayStation Network. The game was released last March 13, and thousands of eager games snapped up this title and propelled it to the top of the bestseller charts.
Certain video game publishers have been crying about the lack of revenue being spoon-fed to them by their adoring fans. Some have been counting all the ways in which the faults of the industry lay with their customers and how they seek to punish them for it. Denis Dyack; founder of Canadian publisher; Silicon Knights recently complained of gamers that purchased second hand titles where going to bring the industry to its knees.
Departure: Yoshinori Ono steps down from current project
Yoshinori Ono, one of the lead producers of the Street Fighter franchise, is stepping away from his current project because of health reasons. On his Twitter account, Ono announced that he would be temporarily away from his post so he can recover from an illness that he has not specified.
