Best new location was the sand ocean with the pirate ship because since ocarina of time the game never really came up with a proper desert zone. I personally think that Gerudo desert was absolutely not interesting at all in TP.

They should really have someone else redo this review because Tom has absolutely no skill at this game and gave it a bad review just because he sucks at it.

The only problem I had with the controls was not been able to put them down

    Such an amazing game

He named himself Tom instead of Link... automatically not a true Zelda fan. Joking.

Nah, but seriously, the game was amazing. The controls were bad about half the time, but they aren't bad enough to make the game get only a 7.5. Also, from judging how he plays, he sounds like he really isn't too skilled. He swings the sword in the same direction constantly, uses his bow on close-ranged enemies, and doesn't realize that you can run when charging up for a skyward strike.

Honestly, this game was great and Tom McShea doesn't do it justice at all. Rant over.

i enjoy the fact that in skyward sword theyre trying to get people to use the motion plus and the more i use it the more i enjoy the change from the classic controller. although zelda does begin to get tedious after about the 4th dungeon the controls story, and love for the game are what kept me busy throughout this game. one thing i wouldve liked to see is somehow be able to play this game by using a gc controller. all in all one of the best zelda games i have ever played and will always keep me busy until the game is perfected 110%.

To each his own. For me personally, this is one of the greatest games I've ever played, and definitely the best in the franchise. I am primarily a PC gamer and quite picky about visual quality, but this game looks great to me. I just compensate for the jaggies by lowering the sharp on my tv to create a softer image. Strong finish for the Wii with Skyward, Xenoblade, and The Last Story.

You can't really make an argument based on an individual's perspective being ill-conceived. My perspective differs from Tom's in that I don't find the Zelda game to be repetitive. Miyamoto needs to ensure that he's developing a Zelda game that a. is better in quality than the previous game b. pleases his current fanbase c. brings in more fans through innovation
I'm not a fan of the wii remote nor the exclusion of a classic style controller that has been used so consistently throughout the Zelda series.
I do like the fact that they are attempting to make this game more realistic for the user and create a fun and exciting world to explore. I will always play Zelda no matter what.

Please, don't criticize the reviewer for that reason F0urTwenty. Anyone who's new to the game or not familiar with Zelda should not be alienated because they're doing it wrong. I can't be any more clearer than that. For the record, I have played the game through only for the first part and haven't gone to the dungeons yet. So don't jump the gun on me.

This is the worst review I have ever read and watched in my entire life, 100% sure of that. Gamespot should do a thorough evaluation of there staff, he clearly just doesn't know how to play the game correctly. This is sad gamespot, just sad.

@Slim_Lyrics Wait... what is that some kind of joke? Yah, it's Ocarina of Time, just with a different story, control scheme, inventory system. over world design that resembles a big dungeon, different dungeon and level design... oh wait, thats not Ocarina of Time, thats Skyward Sword. Your comparisons are weak-minded and foolish to the point of sadness and a desperate need to feel cool by not playing mainstream games. Who's the pathetic one here? Me, the one who got the play the game, or you, the guy who missed out on one of the best games of 2011?

    @johnny
    lol?
man check it out theres like 10-100 skyward sword online guides
    (just google"skyward sword walkthrough"
but im 99% sure that guide i pointed out will work just fine

Larkin-54 is so them right, the game is good , brings more challenge then Twilight (difficulty in general) but nothing that revolutionize the franchise.

And Johnnyauau I don't understand because you really must not be paying attention to the game to loose yourself, Imean Fay is always there to give you the solution + the little bonus stone in your home town. You really don't need a guide!

its a good zelda game but doesn't do anything new... that about sums it up game spot is the only review with the balls to say it

To be honest, I'm pretty lost without a game guide TheZeroPercent. So I'm going to need to find my way around this game. That's the only thing that kept me from playing this game. Don't take it the wrong way but any new gamer might have a hard time at the start.
