Want to add a link to SMAKR on your web site?  You are more than welcome to without written permission, but please only use one of the following URLs in your link:-
Entry/Index page: http://www.fortunecity.com/meltingpot/portland/971/index.html ; or
Home page: http://www.fortunecity.com/meltingpot/portland/971/home.htm
SMAKR does not have an official logo but the "jetplane" image as shown on the index page can be saved and reduced to an appropriate size and displayed as the SMAKR logo, if desired

SMAKR does NOT exchange links.  For practical, time and fairness reasons this is a policy that I have decided on as I get dozens of requests every week, many of which are not even related to aircraft modelling!

SMAKR does NOT include links of any sites that are commercial in nature for a number of practical, fair and prejudicial reasons.  Due to the nature of SMAKR,  I can not endorse or recommend any commercial sites (lest I get the blame if something goes wrong).

Did you know that many links are included in reviews anyway!!  It's a licence all reviewers have and often therefore the links relate specifically to the subject or kit being reviewed.

Further information about my link policy can be found at the bottom of the information requests page.  Please note that I generally do not respond to link exchange requests.

If you do want to tell me about a site that you are confident might be of interest to me, or about a site you own that is related to aircraft modelling, you are most welcome to email me the details and I will be happy to stop by and have a look when I have an opportunity.

The following is a small collection of a few links that are of personal interest or that I believe may be of interest to SMAKR readers. It is not an exhaustive list, I leave that up to sites that compile a huge database of model related links, as shown below.

Yes, I do appreciate advice if a link below is no longer correct or the information is out of date!

AIRCRAFT SCALE MODELLING RELATED SITES

http://www.gumnut.net/sapma/club/info.shtml - South Australian Plastic Modellers Association - the link to the state based modelling club where I live in South Australia.  Plenty of info about the club, back issues of online magazines, bulletin board and updates for upcoming events.  Anyone local in SA should visit here and while you are at it, send me an email and say hi!!

http://scalemodel.net/ - Dedicated to finding you a model related link on the Internet - boasting some 5000+ links from aircraft to ships and kit review sites to model manufacturers.  Having browsed through the site I found that most sites are not simply picked up by a crawler but the webmaster has taken the time to visit the site and have a look at it and write a quick summary of what the site is about.  He has also helped those surfing the Net to find some "key resource" sites by rating them with a key icon.

www.scalemodelindex.com - A huge collection of more than 3000 links to scale models and aircraft related sites. At the bottom of his home page is a recommended list of vendors that gain his endorsement in providing him good service and such for the year and a good way to help the novice model buyer to see some decent vendors to choose from. The page is split into various sections to narrow down a field of searching criteria.

http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/main.htm - IPMS Stockholm, a great site for modellers that includes online monthly modelling magazine with tonnes of useful articles for modellers by modellers.  There are also some great paint charts here that put mine to shame.

http://j-aircraft.com/ - Japanese Aircraft Modelling page with a fair deal of info about who makes (model) what aircraft plus a lot of excellent reference material for those who have a keen interest in Japanese aircraft (particularly WW2).

http://www.frogpenguin.com/ - Frog Penguin Collector & History page devoted to the Frog Penguin label of model aircraft kits, run by Peter Van Lune, who has spent months working on the site and researching the company.  For a bit of nostalgia and some historical information about the manufacturer, this is a great site.

http://www.cnjc-ipms.org - The Central New Jersey chapter of the International Plastic Modellers Society covering some great news and information for modellers

http://www.faasig.org - Another great IPMS site with lots of links and pics for modellers, FAA USA IPMS.

http://www.flinstone.it - Quarter Warbirds in Scale. An interesting site specifically for the 1/48 modeller with articles on Scale aircraft and tales plus reviews.  An Italian focus is certainly apparent and the site also has English translation and pages.

http://www.flankers.co.uk/ - Flanker website hosted by Ken Duffey, a Russian aviation enthusiast with some excellent advice, tips, pictures, reviews and so forth of a number of aircraft flown under the 'red star' banner.

MODELLING FAQ - Dedicated FAQ files in HTML format with tips etc on the art of modelling

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~braithy/ohs/index.htm - SOUTHERN OHS SOLUTIONS - OHS&W Advisory and training service provider for regional South Australia, based in Whyalla.  Audits, inspections, training, consultancy are provided by qualified and accredited chief consultant for health and safety, security and emergency planning.

http://members.optusnet.com.au/~braithy/typing/index.htm - Eyre Regional Typing Services - Typing and general administrative services for most business.  No overheads, competitive hourly rates!  Need some typing done, what about general administrative functions? Working out of Whyalla but servicing the Eyre Peninsula, South Australia, and virtually most places in the world.
