Men fishing out on the ice near Lake Simcoe's Shanty Bay, in Oro-Medonte Township, realize they are in trouble as a change in wind direction causes the ice to suddenly crack. Realizing that they are now on a rapidly disintegrating ice floe, the men abandon their equipment.
