Need a speaker for your group?

Canada’s largest newspaper has journalists and other employees of the newspaper available to speak at your organization or event, at no charge to you, on a variety of topics related to their areas of expertise.

The Toronto Star Speaker’s Bureau features experienced and knowledgeable Star writers, reporters, columnists, photographers and editors who can speak on a variety of subjects from politics to sports, health, education and entertainment.

Staff members from other departments of the Star and its websites can also speak on many facets of journalism and the news business, including emerging trends in digital journalism.

To submit a request for a speaker, please review the list below for general topics and email the speaker’s form back to us. We will assign a speaker based on the area of expertise you request. If you want to hear from a specific speaker on a specific topic, let us know that too and we will do our best to fulfill your request.

We can fill your request up to three months in advance. Please note that last-minute story assignments or breaking news could mean a last-minute change in speakers.

Who can request a speaker?

As a community service to schools, libraries, business, professional or civic groups, speakers are available free of charge. Your event must be held within the Greater Toronto area and there must be at least 50 people in attendance

To request a speaker, please complete the following form. Alternatively, you can call 416-869-4280 or email speakersbureau@thestar.ca.
