Help

This web site has tried to cover all the likely things anyone interested in St Bees may want, but it is unlikely that we have achieved that goal - yet! So if you can't find what you are looking for, let us know.

I am always willing to try and help you if I can - just contact me with your request. Indeed, such queries have led to me acquiring "e-pals" around the world, some of whom I have had the pleasure of meeting when they have visited St Bees.

If I don't have the information, I'll try and find it for you, or pass you on to others who may be able to if I cannot. Please bear in mind however, that I run this site on a voluntary basis, and although I usually answer promptly, I am sometimes unavailable for a week or two.

The questions I have been asked have often led to improvements in the quantity of information on the site, as I usually add the information to the relevant area of the web site.

As for the web site itself, well, help in navigating is probably unnecessary. I have deliberately made this site content rich, and fancy programming poor! The latter mainly due to lack of ability on my part as much as deliberate policy.

For those of you less familiar with the Internet, a few words may be of help.

Across the top of every page are a number of links, the two most important being Home and Site Map. These will bring you back to your starting point or to indices which are intended to help you see and find what is available on the site. These pages, as does this one, also have a list of information areas down the left hand side. Once you reach an area, this list changes to show only what is available in that area. Some pages have a few "tasters" down the right side - links to areas which are perhaps of related interest.

Finally, if you can't find what you are looking for, try the Search link at the top. Remember to restrict the search to the St Bees site. It is a free search engine provided by Google so it may throw in some things which are not St Bees related. Let me knew if these are inappropriate and I will take it up with Google!

And, as I said earlier, if all else fails, you can always contact me.
