Natalie Portman is a very versatile actress as she has proved from Star Wars to Black Swan, and for the film V for Vendetta Portman had really stretch that versatility when she had to shave her head for the film.
In the featured flashback, which occurred on this date in 2006, Portman is being interviewed at the premiere of the film and is asked about what it was like for her to cut of her luscious locks for the production.
"I think it's a pretty great thing to do, to just sort of throw away all the beauty conventions of our time and go hairless," she said, embracing the hair shaving.
The humble and non-materialistic actress took the same stance towards wearing accessories, saying, "It's important to pay attention to other stuff…I mean, enjoy the aesthetics of it all but not get too wrapped up in the empty materialism of it."
Well put, Ms. Portman. What are diamonds but sparkling stones?
