I opened the gallery in 1997 to showcase my paintings and the woodcraft of this historic timber town.
My originals are only sold from the Gallery and you will find many in the gallery not shown on the web site.

Reproductions of my paintings are available as prints and letter cards.

Woodcraft includes turned articles of local Rainforest timbers, unique freeform tables by Colin Buglar, boomerangs from local flame sheoak, and didgeridoos, including one with relief crocodile carving by Michael Go Sam.

Original wood carvings by Buddy Smith are also available. He may be emailed direct at smiles@tpg.com.au
See examples of his work on page, About the artists.

Raina Ham  makes exquisite silver jewellery inspired by the distinctive fauna of this area; possum earrings and rings (Ravenshoe has 12 species of possum within 10 km of the town), frog bracelets, rings and brooches - even gecko rings.
Each animal is a faithfully accurate but is woven into the total design.

 GRANDMA ON THE INTERNET
by Doug Berry, Ravenshoe

That man from Retrovision,
what a super salesman guy
For to sell our ageing Grandma
what she said she'd never buy -
A state of art computer,
it's a Pentium mark three
With all those extra gadgets
that's a mystery to me.
The salesman said quite bluntly,
"Some assistance you'll engage
You just might strike some trouble
it's not easy at your age."
"Young man," she said quite firmly
"Don't talk this foolish way
I don't need your kind assistance
I can learn it in a day."
"The Y2K might bug you,"
warned the salesman, best beware" But Grandma fixed him in the eye,
"Young man, it wouldn't dare."
He shook his head, bewildered,
"I wish you best of luck -
I feel you're too ambitious,
but phone me if you're stuck.
But Grandma dug her heels in
and sat up late each night -
The word she used bewildered us,
like RAM and gigabyte,
And virtual reality
and cyberspace and such,
She learned to surf the internet,
Seemed nothing proved too much.
I've wondered what's her secret
as the years creep up on me
Why Grandma's growing younger
yet it's not too hard to see -
Seems Grandma has an interest
and a mind alert and spry
So perhaps I'll follow Grandma -
and I'll phone that salesman guy.
