Guide Review - Tsubasa Volume 1 - Anime Review

Tsubasa is the story of young Syaoran and the love of his life, Princess Sakura. The lovely princess has the ability to move between different dimensions but this time, some evil forces are at work.

They interfere and Sakura's soul is scattered, each piece of her drifting through the Universe. To save his love, Syaoran volunteers to gather her memories and restore her soul.

The first DVD includes episodes 1 through 5 and introduces us to our main characters of the story. Princess Sakura rules the Clow Kingdom and has deep feelings for her childhood friend Syaoran. She wants to tell him how she feels but he is so busy with his productive archeological dig that she just hasn't found the right moment.

In other worlds across the galaxy, we meet Fai and Kurogane. Fai is in trouble and on the run for his past behavior and wants to travel to another world to get away. Kurogane is a mighty warrior who has become so skilled that he now kills just to hone his skills. The ruler of his world, Tomoyo, makes the decision to send him away and puts a spell on him that forces him to kill only when necessary.

In yet another branch of the story, a diabolical pair of mysterious unknowns have set their sights on Sakura's unique powers to use for their own devilish deeds. When they try to steal her powers, she is with Syoran in the ruins and the two (Sakura and Syaoran) are instead transported to our Earth just as Kurogane and Fai arrive here as well.

And that's where all the subplots begin to merge. Sakura's memories have been turned into feathers and cast across the galaxy into different worlds. Syaoran joins forces with Fai and Kurogane to find Sakura's memories and restore her soul. To do this, Syaoran makes a pricey deal with the Witch, Yuko and the three set out on their journey.
