This is Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad, one of the newest anime series from FUNimation. Rated TV-MA, Beck is the story of Koyuki Tanaka, a high school student with absolutely nothing going on. He's bored with school, bored with his life and just praying for something to change.
And something does.
When Koyuki rescues a mangy mutt, he discovers that the dog's owner is none other than local rocker Ryusuke Minami. Together the two decide that its time to reinvent the music scene and set off on a journey that leads them both through a little self-discovery.
