Ginta Toramizu is your average eighth grader--maybe even less than average. But his luck is about to change. Every night, he dreams about a fairy-tale land where he finally gets a chance to be a hero, and when one day a gate appears before him, he's catapulted into the World of Mär, and the start of a spectacular adventure! Based on the 15-volume manga by Nobuyuki Anzai (Flame of Recca), MAR is the story of 14 year-old Ginta Toramizu and his endless dreams about the World of MAR. Ginta has no clue what the dreams mean, but he wouldn't dare tell anyone at school about them - he gets teased enough as it is for being short and nerdy. But then a dimensional door opens and Ginta is transported to the world of MAR. There, he meets a sorceress named Dorothy who teaches him about MAR magic and shows him how to use the ARM, magical jewelry that can do incredible things! Ginta discovers that he's no longer near-sighted and despite still being short, he has amazing strength in MAR. Ginta's ARM is called Babbo and together they must defeat the Chess Pieces, an evil army that want the power Babbo possesses all to themselves.
